The second Logan's feet touched the ground, he inhaled sharply. Both hands were raising behind his head, his gaze glued to the spot his brother had just occupied less than five minutes ago. And he couldn't breathe. His heart was rapidly beating, uncontrollably creating its own rhythm as he drowned in his own breaths.
"Logan, look at me." Sarah directed, coming up to him. "Are you okay?"
He inhaled deeply before letting out a large breath. He dropped his hands, locking onto his sister's dark eyes. "I'm fine. I'm okay." He admitted, nodding his head.
He was nowhere near fine, but he wasn't going to lose it. That's what mattered.
"Good." Sarah let out a breath of relief.
Kori's gaze narrowed, her eyes fixated on him. She could see that a tremor was still consuming his hands and that it took everything in him not to hyperventilate. She noticed and she felt terrible. Maybe she didn't know Logan as well as she thought she did. Maybe he wasn't just another Kook asshole on figure eight. Maybe she'd misjudged him.
His eyes shifted to hers, instantly making her drop her gaze. "JB, what do we do?" She asked.
"We gotta get outta here." He voiced, beginning to pick up his things.
"Logan, you need to go. You can't be here." Sarah pointed out, facing him again.
He shook his head. "No. No, I'm not leaving you, Sarah."
"Logan, look at me." Sarah insisted, forcing his gaze back to her. "You can't be here. Dad and Rafe still trust you. If they found out you were here, you're screwed. Okay?"
Kori finally lifted her head, locking onto Logan's eyes. "She's right. If they still trust you, that means we can clear John B's name. So you need to go."
Logan didn't want to do that. He didn't want to do it at all. But all eyes were on him. "Okay." He breathed out, nodding his head. "Please be careful. All of you." He turned to John B. "Keep her safe, man."
"You know I will." He responded, glancing at Sarah.
"All things considered, you're not half-bad, Logan. Keep your guard up." JJ warned him.
Logan let his eyes linger on Kori for a few more moments before he turned and left, leaving them all in the front yard. And she didn't take her eyes off of him until she knew he was truly gone.
"All right. Come on." John B voiced, gesturing for them to hurry. "Get your stuff, then we'll leave as soon as Pope and Kie are back."
None of them said anything as they gathered their things, the sun just beginning to poke above the marsh. It would be fully light in a few hours, which meant Rafe and Barry would probably come back. So they needed to hurry.
