Steve, Dustin, and Angie listen to the tape for the hundredth time.

Angie is half-asleep, Steve snacking to stay awake.

"So... what do you think?" Dustin asks, rubbing his eyes.

"It sounds familiar," Angie mumbles, her head resting under Steve's hat, which he has plopped on her for fun.

She doesn't mind; it shades her from the bright overhead lights.

"Probably because we've listened to it eight hundred times," Steve mutters around a mouthful of chips.

"What sounds familiar?" Dustin's patience is already thinning.

"The music," Angie says, lifting her head slightly. "Right there at the end."

"Why are you listening to the music, Steve? Listen to the Russian! We're translating Russian!" Dustin snaps, frustration evident.

"It's not like he can understand Russian, Dustin," Angie replies, finally moving her crossed legs off the table.

"He should still listen to it!" Dustin waves his hands. "Not the music in the background!"

"I am trying to listen to the Russian, but there's music—"

"Alright!" Robin storms into the back room, startling Angie awake. "Babysitting time is over!"

"Jeez, shh," Angie groans, glaring at her friend.

"You need to get in there," Robin says, gesturing at Steve. "Hey, my board! That was important data, shitbirds."

"I guarantee you, what we're doing is way more important than your data," Dustin reasons, as Steve tosses his half-eaten banana onto the table.

"Throw that away!" Angie scolds, pointing at the peel near her feet.

"In a minute," Steve shrugs dismissively.

"Yeah? And how do you even know these Russians are up to no good?" Angie asks suspiciously.

Dustin gasps. "How does she know about the Russians?"

"I don't know."

"The banana peel, Steve," Angie whispers, pointing.

"You told her about—" Dustin begins, scolding Steve.

"It wasn't me!" Steve shoots back.

"You told her!" Dustin turns to Angie, accusing.

"She's not deaf, guys," Angie says, rolling her eyes.

"Exactly," Robin chimes in. "Hello! I can hear you. Everything. You two are ridiculously loud."

"Thank you," Angie says, smugly satisfied. "I told you so."

"You think you have evil Russians plotting against our country, on tape, and you're trying to translate, but haven't figured out a single word because you didn't realize they use a different alphabet. Sound about right?" Robin crosses her arms.

Angie laughs quietly in the background.

Robin lunges for the tape, but Steve snatches it first. "Whoa! What do you think you're doing?"

"I wanna hear it."

"Why?"

"Maybe I can help."

Steve hesitates, and Angie cautiously places her hand on his forearm. "Just give it to her. What could it hurt?"

"Exactly," Dustin agrees, eyes pleading.

Steve looks into her eyes, searching for guidance.

"I'm fluent in four languages," Robin boasts. "Russian included."
