Angie dashes towards them as quickly as her injuries will allow. She goes to open her mouth, but she pauses abruptly at the sight of Billy standing firmly before El as the Mind Flayer creeps closer.

It roars loudly, reaching for her as she crawls across the floor.

"El!" She shouts, regaining her voice. Angie rushes to grab her and pull her back. Mike and Max appear from afar and take over the task, frozen in shock.

Billy turns briefly at the sound of her voice. He looks so pitiful. It takes Angie's breath away.

She opens her mouth to speak when the Mind Flayer shoots out to grab her. Billy steps between them, grabbing one of its arms.

"No!" He shouts.

Billy pushes with all the fight he has left to keep it away from them.

This only angers the creature more. It shrieks in frustration, impaling his side.

He screams in pain as another arm shouts out to bite into his other side.

Angie stands frozen in fear as his body grows almost limp.

The Mind Flayer impales him a few more times for good measure.

"No," She mutters in disbelief, "Billy!"

Max rushes past her, flanking Billy's side as the Mind Flayer sinks lifelessly to the ground.

She stands frozen for a moment more before following Max's efforts.

"Billy, Billy, get up, please. Billy, get up, please, please." She begs, holding her brother's shoulders.

"I'm sorry." He mutters, fighting against the pain.

"Billy–" Angie gasps as he reaches for her hand desperately. The second he makes contact, her vision fades to black.

Amidst her confusion, the darkness is replaced by a new image.

It's Billy.

He looks younger, so she assumed this was him a few months ago.

He's digging through cabinets of his trailer. He smacks the counter in frustration, "There's gotta be something stronger than beer."

She laughs lightly. Of course, he's looking for alcohol.

He marches over to a closet and pushes the clothes aside to reveal a box, "Bingo," he mutters.

He brings the box into the light, and to his surprise, it isn't filled with bottles of alcohol. It's filled with baby toys, and clothes– bottles, teddy bears, you name it.

"What the hell?"

Angie walks closer and looks over his shoulder into the box.

He reaches down to the bottom and pulls out a picture.

It was a man in an outdoor work coat sprawled out on a lawn chair; in his arms was a little girl. She couldn't have been any older than a few months. Dark auburn curls shaded her head.

She was adorable. Still, confusion struck her... and by the look on Billy's face, it struck him too.

Angie didn't know who the man was. She assumed it was Billy's father whom she had never met.

From what she had heard about his father, he was a very angry and private man. He didn't want anyone snooping around, so Billy had to wait for the right moment to ask him about the picture.

Carefully, he placed the picture into the back pocket of his jeans and hid the box back in its original hiding place.
