homesick

it's been a few days since joão presented me with the hologram of my father, i kept watching it over and over, everyday i fall for him more.

he was at practice and i was in bed, i didn't wanna get up.

today was raining, i wonder how joão was training right now. today i want it to be a relaxing day, i doordash food for me and joao for when he gets home.

i was getting homesick, i wanted my mommy's homemade soup, doordash wasn't hitting the right spot today.

i called my mom

"sim cassandra?" (yes cassandra?)

"mama eu quero sua sopa caseira" ( mommy i want your homemade soup)

"eu vou fazer isso para você minha garota, apenas venha" (i'll make it for you my girl, just come over)

when those words came out of her mouth i hopped out of bed

"okay mama eu estarei lá em breve!" (okay mommy i'll be there soon!)

i leave the house and get into my car.

i got to my mothers house, i open the door since i have the keys. i hear little kids screaming around, i'm pretty sure my mom was babysitting alana, eva, mateo, bella and junior.

"mama!" i say taking off my shoes

"oh minha garota está aqui" (oh my girl is here!) i see her running torwards me hugging me, i see my nieces and nephews following behind her

"olá mama, junior, eva, mateo, alana, and hello bella!  i say picking her up from juniors arms.

"hola tia cassie!" my nieces and nephews scream hugging me

"estou quase terminando a sopa" (i'm almost done with the soup!)

"está tudo bem mamãe, tome seu tempo" (it's okay mommy, take your time) i say follow my mother to the kitchen

i smell a very homey smell that i haven't smelt it ages, i loved it.

"ah meu deus, cheira a casa" (oh my god, it smells like home)

my mother laughs and stirs her soup pot. i get a message from joão

cassie where are you?

joão i totally forgot to tell you, i'm at my mommy's home because i'm a little homesick. i hope you understand

it's fine my love i understand, i love you

i love you more.

my mom brings out the soup and it looks just like how it did the last time i saw it.

"obrigada mamãe eu amo" (thank you mommy i love it.) my mom pats my head and kisses it

i took a bite out of it and moaned.
"ugh mãe isso é tão bom" ( ugh mom this is so good) i say eating that shit up

"fico feliz que tenha gostado minha linda" (i'm glad you like it my beautiful) she says watching me eat

after i finshed my bowl of soup i went for seconds, after i finshed that bowl i washed my dish and i laid my head on my mothers lap on the couch watching my nieces and nephews, i had bella on my lap just playing with her as my mother braids my hair.

"foi muito gentil o joao ter feito um holograma do papai"(it was very kind of joão to make that hologram of dad)

"sim mamãe eu amo isso, eu continuo assistindo mais e mais" (yes mommy i love it so much, i keep watching it over and over)

"estou muito feliz por você cassie, você tem um jovem bonito que te ama muito" (i'm very happy for you cassie, you have a handsome young man who loves you so much)

"thank you mama" she smiles and kisses me on the forehead

"eu sinto falta do seu pai todos os dias" (i miss your dad everyday)

"eu também mamãe" (me too mommy)
