"I must say, darling, I am thoroughly impressed with the way you handled Holzman today," Freddie praised, his voice filled with genuine admiration. He sat gracefully in front of his vanity, surrounded by the opulence of his personal space.

I couldn't help but smile, a mix of pride and satisfaction coursing through me. Taking a seat on the edge of his luxurious bed, the silk material cool against my skin, I leaned back, crossing my legs at the ankles. "Well, someone had to say it," I replied, my tone laced with playful confidence. "Reid wasn't going to step up, so why not me?"

Freddie chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "You've got a point there, my dear. Sometimes you just have to be the one to speak up and make your voice heard."

I tilted my head, studying his reflection in the mirror as he carefully began to apply a small amount of makeup. The room was filled with the soft glow of vanity lights, casting a magical aura around us. It was in these intimate moments, away from the chaos of the outside world, that I truly appreciated the bond I shared with Freddie.

"Besides," I continued, a mischievous glint in my eyes, "it's not every day that I get to outshine somebody like John Reid and Jac Holzman at their own game."

Freddie let out a melodious laugh, his whole face lighting up. "Oh, darling, you certainly know how to make a statement. It's one of the many things that I adore about you."

I blushed, feeling a warm rush of affection wash over me. Freddie never failed to let the outside world crumble around us and give me strength and encouragement to push myself to the fullest.

Leaning forward, I reached out to gently move a stray section of hair behind Freddie's shoulder. "And you, my dear Freddie, never cease to amaze me with your talent and charisma."

He turned to meet my gaze, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Maria."

"Shh, no need to thank me. I've always thought that about you. About all of you," I said nonchalantly, a playful smile tugging at the corners of my lips. As I stood up, my eyes wandered around Freddie's room, taking in the eclectic collection of trinkets and knick-knacks.

Just as I was admiring a particularly quirky figurine, a familiar Irish accent echoed from the hallway. I turned my head swiftly to face Freddie, a tinge of annoyance creeping into my voice. "Why is he here?" I almost whined, not too thrilled about Paul's sudden appearance.

Freddie placed a reassuring hand on my arm, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Darling, just trust me on this. One night out with Paul, and you'll completely change your mind about him. He's not as bad as you think," he said, flashing me an encouraging smile before directing his attention to Paul's voice. "In here, dear!"
