Tony sat on the couch with our twins playing on the floor and Lindsey nervously sitting in a chair. Two men with machine guns stood nearby.

“What is going on?” I demanded as Jesse placed me on my feet.

“There is a big event going on in El Paso, and we were sent to pick up our star performers. If you go quietly, the kiddos stay here playing with their nanny. If not…“ he shrugged.

Lucian is still outside and so are the guards. They will call for backup. Stall. I informed Jesse.

I just thought the same thing. Jesse responded.

“Can I hold them before we go? I miss them.” I pleaded.

“Go for it, but nothing funny.” Tony demanded.

Jesse and I sat on the floor and the twins jumped into our laps giving hugs and excitedly telling us about all the adventures they had at Nanny and Pop Pop’s house. We kissed and held our babies and built a castle together with the blocks.

“Time to go.” Tony stated dryly about ten minutes later.

I nodded and we stood up telling the kids they needed to stay with Ms. Lindsey. We would all be right back.

They nodded understanding but were sad. We exited the house and a Lycan strike team descended on us from the bushes and disarmed them. They were cuffed and taken to the prison. Jesse held me.

I linked Jesse: I think our informant wanted to make a report and that was why he was so easily caught. Tony doesn’t make mistakes this obvious. I will let you know what he tells me, but I will have to talk to him alone. I will be back soon. I kissed Jesse. And I want my rain check.

Take Lucian. He demanded.

Alright. I agreed.

Sargent Davies?  I called.

Yes Ma’am? He asked.

Make a big deal about scaring Tony and bring him deep enough into the Hall of Death where I can have a private conversation with him and his men won’t hear him. He is my mole and he obviously wanted to get caught. I need to privately hear his report. I explained.

Got it. I will. He replied.

Lucian and I went to the prison and into the Hall of Death.

Lucian gasped when he walked in and saw miles and miles of bones along the wall.

“We didn’t build it. This is the work of Alpha Alex.” I explained.

“What a sociopath.” He replied quietly.

“Agreed.” I stated.

We went to the center of the Catacombs where Alpha Alex placed the bones of his first mate on a throne.

“Who was that?” Lucian asked.

“Alpha Alex’s first wife. He murdered her for turning 30 and put her here as ‘Queen of the Damned’.” I explained.

“This is why his pack doesn’t want him back.” I gestured around me.

“Solid logic.” Lucian agreed.

Sargent Davies came with Tony alone.
“Alright Tony, these are my most trusted officers spill it. Why did you need to be caught?” I demanded.

“They were closing in on me, and the boss wanted you to attend the event in El Paso. I am sure you heard of it by now. So I made it easy to get caught. I am done looking over my shoulder for the dagger aimed at my back. I will trade everything I know to cool my heels in your prison. Three meals and a cot until you win the war.” He negotiated.
