I woke up with a start.

I looked at my phone and it was 4am, Monday morning. I still had three more hours until my alarm would go off. Jesse was sound asleep facing away from me. I was holding him. He smelled so good. I pressed my nose close to his skin and breathed in his scent deeply.

What woke me up?

I listened carefully, and I could hear the guards in the living room watching a movie and snoozing as they switched off who was on watch through out the night. There was no need for them all to stay up when it only took one to rouse the rest if there was a need.

I heard nothing unusual.

Then I heard it again.

Luna? A voice called out over mind link. Sorry to wake you up Rebecca, but it is extremely important.

Yes? Who is this? I asked disoriented.

Moriah. The voice answered. I have news.

What's going on Moriah? I asked.

My mate contacted me. He said he was coming for me after he hurt you for embarrassing him first with the vampires and now with the shifters. He said if I don't hurt myself he will have me picked up. In the mean time, he promised to hurt you in ways far worse than you have experienced for how badly you have ruined his reputation with his peers. Moriah explained.

I am going to make some calls and put you into hiding. You will be on the earliest flight I can put you on. I promised. Until then, I will ask Alpha Gregory to put you into hiding in the tunnels under the settlement and move you out in secret. I will not tolerate that scumbag hurting you ever again. I simply won't if I have a choice. I promised.

As for my safety, thank you for the advanced warning. I am sure the spies are reporting my every move. I will just have to be more careful. If you learn anything else let me know. I advised Moriah.

Yes Luna. He was cryptic. If he contacts me any further, I will report it to you. Moriah promised.

Alpha Gregory? I called out and waited. Alpha Gregory?

Yes? Who is this? He answered.

It's Rebecca. I am sorry to bother you this early, but Moriah is in danger. I need her smuggled to a panic room under guard, underground, for her protection. Her mate is threatening to abduct her if she doesn't hurt herself, and he has the power to do it. He probably has her under watch now. After the sun rises, I will get her put into hiding in a remote pack without a disclosed location. I have a few set up as allies, and they will make her disappear until after Alpha Alex is dead. I just need a few hours to make arrangements and charter a plane. I explained.

Sounds good. I will have her quietly moved immediately and placed underground, under guard. Alpha Gregory promised. She has suffered enough. I will hide her until you can make arrangements to move her.

Thank you, Sir. I ended our conversation.

Moriah? I asked.

Yes, Luna. Moriah answered.

Alpha Gregory agreed to hide you and put you under guard until I can put you into hiding. You are going to be ok. He is sending his men now. I assured her.

Thank you, Luna. I hope you will be ok. I wish I had more information. Moriah sounded worried.

I will be alright. I will be careful. I will get you out of there in the morning. I promised.

Our conversation ended and Jesse rolled over to face me, wrapping his arms around me in his sleep. I snuggled into his chest. He smiled kissing my forehead and hugging me tightly.

With nothing more I could do, I fell back to sleep.

When my alarm went off at 7am, I started making phone calls and got everything arranged and approved to stealthfully move Moriah by 10am. Alpha Gregory kept his word and kept her safe in the interim. By 11am she was safely in the air and no longer traceable. The only witnesses were the guards we vetted and that had passed the blinding LED light test.

I thought about what Moriah said, and Alpha Alex knew the depths I had suffered. To make me suffer worse he would have to either torture or kill someone I loved. That was the only pain that could be worse.

I mind linked Alpha Gregory and asked for my parents to be kept monitored and under guard until we could track down Alpha Alex and kill him. He agreed.

I mind linked Sargent Davies and increased the guard at home for the twins, Lindsey, and Jesse.

I also mind linked Keith and gave him a special assignment: create a top secret panic room out of the subterranean storage room under the hospital wing and to have it stocked for my delivery. That was when I suspected Alpha Alex would strike: when I was at my most vulnerable state like a coward.

Jesse saw that I was gone most of the morning either on the phone or mind linked. He didn't interfere, because my ability to focus was compromised by the pregnancy. He waited. Once I was done then he had questions.

Hey love, what's going on? He asked.

Moriah woke me up in the middle of the night. Alpha Alex contacted her, threatening her to hurt herself, or he would pick her up and torture her. He also said he was coming for me to make me suffer worse than ever before for embarrassing him so badly with the vampires and the shifters I turned against him. I took that to mean he was coming to hurt my family or attack during my labor for the triplets so I made preparations. I explained.

That is logical. I will contact our allies today and see what any of them know. Maybe there is a plan in the works. Jesse suggested.

Good idea. I have Keith working on a high security, top secret, panic room under the hospital. In the case of attack during my labor and delivery, I want our family moved there. I explained.

Good call. I didn't know there was underground storage under the hospital. Jesse confessed.

We found it during the security upgrades. It is a solid basement built before they transformed the wing for other purposes. It was all but forgotten. I doubt Alpha Alex even remembers it exists, if he ever knew it all. It was built out of thick, reinforced concrete with brick columns for supports. I described.

Sounds sturdy. Jesse agreed. How is it accessed? Jesse asked.

A private stairwell from the area where the doctors keep their offices. I answered.

We will need a second exit point installed and back up ventilation. If Alpha Alex remembers it, those are the two weaknesses to the room security wise. Jesse admitted.

True. I will pass that along to Keith. I stated.

Jesse wrapped his arms around me and kissed me. You look gorgeous today. He complimented me while deepening the kiss, the mate bond taking my breath away.

I ran my hands through his hair, and pressed in close to his body, closing the gap between us just enjoying the moment as his strong arms supported me. As the kiss ended, I snuggled in against him smiling. Jesse's strong hands rubbed my back and I enjoyed the mate bond tingles sighing.

We better get up or my hands are going to get me into trouble, detaining us here for the next hour. Jesse was already digging of the bottom of my tank top. See? He pressed me onto the bed and laid beside me snuggling.

I groaned. Must we be responsible today? I whined, untangling myself from my cozy, snuggled position. Is it bad that I have had so many threats against my life, that at this point I am jaded? I asked sitting up.

Jesse shrugged. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Jesse quoted, standing up. It would take me a few more tries to manage that feat.

I used momentum to try to get up, but fell back onto the bed. I would just be happy to have better balance at this point. I teased.

Jesse helped me up. I pulled him into my arms. He smiled and hugged me. I love you too. He replied kissing me gently and rubbing my back.

As he walked away I called after him, It should be a crime to be that attractive. Jesse looked back at me and saw my eyes looking at his body.

I am all yours love. He promised, heading to the closet to get some clothes. I followed him, seeing the mirror, and I blanched at my reflection.
