I woke up and got ready. I left early with Lucian, picked up a black van we kept for local transport, and a handful of guards. We took the ferry, and I drove an hour to find Oliver's family. I knocked on her door and simply explained: I have her husband, he is safe, but her house is bugged. I asked for 15 minutes of her time.
Surprisingly, she trusted me and got unto the van while Lycan stared at me like I was ridiculous.
We began to drive and I explained that a sociopath was using her and her children's safety to force her husband to do horrible things. To get him out, I needed to promptly hide her and her family. I know a peaceful werewolf pack in Northern Canada willing to give her necessities and keep her hidden until the war is over and it becomes safe to return home.
Of course she had no idea werewolves existed so I brought it to her attention we were all werewolves except Lucian. That we are a like humans only we turn to into wolves and live in packs. If she moved there, it would be like she disappeared. Their pack will not even allow their location to be disclosed. They use a waystation and a PO Box in a town an hour away. They agreed to protect her if she is willing. The alternative was hoping she stays alive when they learn Oliver did not kill my children as ordered so they would come to kill his. She met one of the enforcers once, and she wanted out.
She agreed to move. I told her to pack only essentials and close up her house. We would leave in an hour. I already had a plane standing by.
In an hour, the family took off, and I called the Alpha of the pack to confirm their ETA to ensure someone meets them at the bush airstrip. He told me he would call and confirm when they were safe.
I took a picture of Oliver's family getting on a plane for him to see I kept my word.
We drove home and Lucian kept shaking his head at me. The level people trusted me amazed him.
When we got back, the hospital wing was secured and Keith handed me a security badge. I was impressed. To get on or off the wing, you had to have a badge. There was also a camera to vet each badge swipe in real time.
I went onto the hospital wing and asked to have a private conversation with Tiffany Wilson, with Dr. Philips as a witness.
We met in Dr. Philips' office. They wheeled Tiffany in a wheel chair.
"Hi Tiffany. I greeted her. I need to talk to you about some new information I have just discovered." I began.
"We know you are a shifter, but that doesn't have to be a problem unless you make it one." I explained as her eyes filled with fear.
"I know they gang raped and tortured you until you had a positive pregnancy test, and you were pregnant before you met Jesse. I know you were in alliance with our enemy. Now I need to know, after you have sampled our hospitality, our therapeutic services, and our kindness, would you like to switch sides? We would like to trade information and continue with your therapy and care as it stands. We are not your enemy. You can switch sides. What do you choose?" I made an offer.
"I was picked up off the street and forced to do all I have done. The therapy is helping. Feeling safe is helping. I don't want to go back. I will tell you anything you want to know." She pleaded.
"Alright, you can stay under probation. If you continue to behave well, and we will discuss next steps later." I paused. "What was the plan for this pregnancy?" I asked.
"To drive you and Jesse apart and the pack from Jesse. They also wanted to make a hybrid to see what would happen. I am actually sorry for what I did to Jesse. He is a good man." She confessed.
"What else do you know?" I asked.
"The other shifters are waiting for a signal to cause havoc while vampires attack you all. I don't know when, just that the signal is a high pitched whistle only dogs can hear." She explained.
