Peter
"This feels good, doesn't it?" Aunt May spoke as she placed the last rose bulb into the ground. I scooped up some soil and placed it over the hole and nodded in response, taking in the warming sunlight that beamed lightly on us.
We were finishing up the morning with the plants, sitting in the garden plot May had in front of the building. She was right, it did feel good. It felt like it was a shift in the right direction; A new hope. I guess having physical evidence of mental restart felt just as good as the real deal.
"Thank you for doing this with me," she spoke suddenly as she reached across to hold my hand. "It means the world to me."
"May, you know I would do anything for you, this was great." I smiled at her and dusted some dirt off of my jeans as I stood up.
"Leaving so soon?" She asked as she took off her gardening gloves.
"You know me!" I laughed with a playful shrug. "Happy's here, so I'll see you later!" I called as the familiar black car pulled up.
May waved as Happy rolled down the window and waved nervously to May.
"You have to get your own license." He muttered as May waved back to him.
"Are you blushing?" I teased in response. He rolled his eyes as I climbed into the back seat, then he was quick to drive away. It was as long as normal, and I was anxiously waiting to see Y/n.
I know we fought yesterday, and the day before and so on, but each time it feels like we get closer. It's hard to believe the girl in the barred cell was the same as the one who apologized to me.
I used to hate to see her cry, but now, it is a good alternative to the brutal anger. Even with her threat on my life, I only feel closer to her. I need her to come back to me, I need her to be okay.
I was lost in daydreaming and before I knew it, we were here. I beat Happy out of the car and took quick strides underneath the 'A', flashing a smile as I looked at it momentarily.
"Peter!" Tony greeted me as I passed him.
"Hey Mr. Stark." I smiled at him and stopped walking.
"You seem cheerful." He spoke as he spun a water bottle in the air. "Quick note, don't get too hopeful, maybe?" He was pointing the bottle at me now.
"Huh?" I asked as I had no clue what he meant.
"We watched your little breakthrough last night and well, we're worried you might get too attached." Bruce piped in.
"Too attached? This is my girlfriend you're talking about." I spoke calmly, trying to understand why they would be saying this to me.
"Yes but, even if she chills out, she can do some real damage. If we can't cure her, she can't leave." Tony took back the conversation.
"You don't think I know that?!" I snapped at them. "You don't think I want to cure her? To hold her in my arms, to play with her hair, to kiss her. You don't think I've thought about that?"
"Peter-"
"No!" I interrupted Tony. "No. Stop watching every single thing we do. I will tell you if anything arises."
Bruce barely got to speak before I interrupted him. "But what if-"
"What if what? She can't get out, she can't hurt me. What if what?" I breathed heavily.
"Okay." Tony stated. He turned on his heel and grabbed a bowl. "Hope she likes mac and cheese." He handed said bowl to me and waved me away, like he wasn't going to push anything further but didn't want to seem like he was being pushed around.
