Two Weeks Later.
You barely managed to tuck under the fist that swung at you mercilessly, standing up quickly to gawk at Natasha.
"Geez!" You shouted and put your hands up in defense. "Are you mad at me or something?"
"You're distracted again." She scolded and stood in front of you.
"If you hit me in the face, you'll just die." You pointed out and crossed your arms over your chest.
"And you'll have to live with that." She smirked and threw another fist with no hesitation.
"Yeesh." Rocket chuckled from his spot across the gym as you dodged her attack. "That's harsh." He had been slouched against the wall as he told you about his friends, The Guardians, and therefore distracting you from your daily training with Natasha. She was becoming increasingly frustrated and was close to calling it a day.
"It's the only way she pays attention." Natasha spoke in a matter of fact tone as she caught your sleeved arm before you could hit her.
"That's not fair." You rolled your eyes. "He's telling me about Treebeard."
"His name is Groot." Rocket growled but calmed down when he saw you giggling at his anger. You were just trying to get a rise out of him as he had done to you a few times, referring to Peter as Teenage Mutant Ninja Peter.
Natasha glared at your frivolity and dropped your arm. You turned to Rocket to continue listening to his stories, assuming she had given up but was surprised to feel her boot collide into the center of your back.
She kicked hard enough to knock the wind out of you before you could even hit the ground. You caught yourself before you landed too hard and quickly flipped around to defend yourself.
"What the fuck?!" You yelled and sat up. "That hurt."
"Yeah, it wasn't supposed to feel good." She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms as she looked down at you. "You're not taking this seriously at all."
"Nat, we've been training for hours." You groaned and sprawled out onto your back. " Hours. Everyday. For two weeks. I'm exhausted."
"You're the one who wanted to do more." She sighed but ripped off her fingerless gloves.
"Yeah, well." You huffed. "Now I want to do even more."
"What do you have in mind?" Rocket asked as he stood up. You furrowed your brows in thought before sitting right back up, this time with a devious smirk.
"Can I have a weapon?" You asked and looked between them. They gave each other nervous looks but before either of them could speak up, everything began to shake violently. The walls trembled, rattling different shelves and wall decorations and you jumped to your feet.
"Earthquake?" You asked carefully as the three of you eyed different spots of the ceiling. The vibrations through the floor made your feet feel numb but you were just trying to focus on keeping calm.
"We should move outside just in case." Natasha spoke quickly before turning to the door. You followed her out, watching Rocket skitter ahead of her. They took a sharp turn and the three of you bursted out of a swinging door.
The sky had darkened, showing another day had gone by of doing nothing but training. And of course, a few meals and bathroom breaks.
There was a strange sound, one like listening to a planet through a radio telescope. You looked to the sky, where the sound was booming from, and watched as a brightly lit woman lowered a huge spaceship onto the grass with her bare hands.
