You were used to the confusion and wasted no time opening your eyes. You squinted as the ceiling lights pierced into your pupils and sat up to take in your surroundings. Comfort immediately washed over your limbs as soon as you spotted Bruce across the room, organizing some tools back into drawers.

You let out a light sigh and laid back down, feeling safe enough to process how your body felt. Your head felt like a rock but overall, you were just weak and hungry.

"How long was I out?" You seemingly asked the ceiling. Bruce turned around quickly and looked at you with sympathy.

"Only about twenty minutes." He spoke softly and walked over.

"I can't believe I fainted." You scoffed through another sigh. Bruce nodded and extended a glove covered hand. You softly grabbed hold and let him help you sit up. "Embarrassing."

"It's not embarrassing. It's scary." He frowned and took a step back to give you space.

"I'm pretty tough." You tried to joke but it came out as a suggestion.

"You need to eat." He commanded delicately. "Syncope might not be so dangerous the first time but repetition is the killer."

"What if I don't care?" You muttered dramatically.

"Peter would care." He shut you down instantly. You looked away and he continued. "Your blood sugars are very low and your muscles are losing mass but as long as we get you back to eating, you can make a perfect recovery. When was the last time you ate something?"

"Before the party." You admitted and looked at your thinning hands.

"Y/n... that was over a week ago." He scolded and took off his glasses.

"I'm not doing it on purpose." You snapped and crossed your arms as you shot him a glare. "I'm fucking starving but everytime I have an appetite, it's overcome with anger. I can't eat. It feels wrong."

"I understand." He nodded lightly. "We've all been there."

"Everyone keeps telling me how I feel is normal but you've got to admit, there's nothing normal about this." You shook your head but calmed down.

"I'm a mutant." He chuckled and turned towards the door. "The bar of normalcy is nonexistent."

"Where are you going?" You asked as he pulled it open.

"Follow me." He spoke without looking back. You hopped off of the bed and followed him out of the door, overflowing with confusion and curiosity. Everyone had just told you to follow them rather than explaining anything.

You walked silently as you caught up to him, walking right out of the front door. You took note of the fact that everyone's solution was outside.

"What are we doing out here?" You asked as the door closed behind you.

"Natasha and I have been having lunch out here everyday. It's really peaceful." He spoke as he settled onto the bench against the wall. You rolled your eyes but stopped as you spotted your usual entrance into the woods.

"I would give anything to have lunch with Peter right now." You sighed and lowered yourself beside him, never breaking away from the trees.

"Do you miss him?" He asked simply and followed your gaze.
