Sarah and Abby hold hands and laugh as they make their way out of the courthouse holding their marriage license.

"Babe, how did I not know that your birth name was Sarah Miller?"

Sarah shrugs. "It's not usually something that comes up in conversation. Most people just assume that I've been a Davis since birth, but, that's not the case. Mom and Dad had to go through the process of having my name legally changed when they adopted me."

"Did you ever think of doing one of those DNA test things to find out your origin or possibly if you have any long-lost family members?"

Sarah nods. "I did, but after my career started taking off, I was concerned about who might come out of the woodwork when and if my backstory became public knowledge. I might do it in the future, but, as far as I'm concerned Pamela and Brian Davis are my parents and family and soon you will be as well; no test is ever going to tell me otherwise."

"Do you have anything from your birth parents aside from a guitar pick? Like pictures or mementos?"

"My Dad went to their apartment building a few months after the accident to see if there was anything left behind, unfortunately, the landlord had already cleared out their belongings and tossed them into the basement of the building, where other tenants took most of the good stuff. He managed to collect a couple of pictures of them, one of which shows my birth father with a guitar, I think that's why I took to it because of that picture. They are back in California in one of the drawers, I'll show them to you one day."

"I'd like that."

"I'm sorry if I ask questions that make you uncomfortable, it's just ..."

"Baby, it's fine. I'm long since over it. I can't change what happened in the past, nor would I want to because everything I've had to navigate my way through in this life led me to my family, my career and most importantly, you."

Abby smiles. "I love you; Sarah and I can't wait to marry you."

"Love you too, beautiful." They share a quick kiss and smile at each other before Sarah's phone sounds out and she apologizes for the interruption to the conversation before answering it.

"Yes, Tan, we've got the license in hand. They weren't exactly expedient about issuing a license to a same sex couple, but eventually we got it. What's next on the list of things we need to do?"

Sarah laughs, "I'll make sure and tell Abby that you said that. See you soon. Bye Tanner."

After putting her phone back in her pocket Sarah can't help but take a moment and just smile at Abby.

"What's Tanner got us doing now?"

"Actually, he suggested that you and I get manis and pedis as in his words my nails were looking a little rough and he didn't want me to injure you with them."

Abby bursts out laughing and shakes her head, "Of course, he'd be thinking about that. Did he mention if my parents had made contact, yet?"

Sarah nods, "Yep, their flight lands in a couple of hours."

Abby nods, "Perfect. We really should get a move on, though, it took forever to get the papers and we still need to swing by and collect the decorations that have been picked out for the space, drop them off and now apparently, get manis and pedis as well."

Sarah can tell by Abby's tone, that she's feeling tense and stressed about everything. "Abs, I know you always wanted to have a ceremony that overlooked the waves and amongst your family and friends, say the word and we'll cancel everything."

Abby smiles, "You'd do that; wouldn't you?"

Sarah nods, "In a heartbeat. I'd do anything for you."

"And I you, which is why we aren't changing our plans, because, it's important to you that your parents be in attendance for your big day and that your Father escorts you down the aisle. Besides, the ocean is still going to be there and there's no one saying that we can't have a second ceremony at a later day surrounded by all of our loved ones and follow it up with one hell of a bash to celebrate."
