Abby enters the bedroom and finds Sarah sitting on the edge of the bed.

"The car is here for you and your Mom; Tanner is downstairs and Sam is about five minutes out."

"K, thanks."

Sitting down beside her wife, Abby reaches for her hand and squeezes it.

"I really wish we didn't have to travel separately."

"Baby, I'll be at the church waiting for you and I'll be sitting directly behind you."

"You should be sitting beside me; the front row is always for the immediate family and you're my immediate family."

"It'll look weird if I'm the only one sitting with you and your Mom."

"If the wake was any indication, the church is going to be pretty full and seats hard to come by." Sarah smiles as she looks at Abby, "Mom will have some of her friends attending and I'm going to suggest that perhaps we should all sit together in order to support one another. I can have you, Tanner, Sam and even Pat as my extended family in the front row, yeah?"

Abby smiles and lets out a chuckle, "Yeah."

"Good. That's one problem solved. Next problem is that my tummy is a grumbling."

"Your ride is already waiting for you; best I can offer is a protein bar."

"What are the odds I can eat it and not mess up my makeup?"

"Knowing you; slim to nil."

Sarah tilts her head and shrugs, "That's fair."

Knock ... knock

They both look towards the door and find Pam watching them and smiling.

"It's time to be heading out. Sam, Pat and Tanner are downstairs waiting for you Abby."

Abby nods and stands up, reaching for Sarah and wrapping her arms around her when she stands up beside her. "I love you, superstar."

"Love you, Abs."

Squeezing her wife once more, Abby gently pecks her lips. "I'll see you soon."

Sarah nods as she watches her wife head out the door and hears her heels clicking down the steps as she makes her way downstairs to meet up with Sam, Pat and Tanner.

"Mom?"

"Yes, Sarah?"

"Can you message Glenys, Janet and Millie and let them know they are sitting in the front row with you at the church?"

Pam looks at her and half smiles, before nodding. "I'll do that on the way. I'm assuming this is the only way that Abby will sit with you."

"It is and I honestly don't know how you're keeping your shit together right now, because, I feel as though I'm on the edge and going to break down balling again."

Pam wraps her arms around her daughter and kisses the top of her head. "I've cried my share of tears over the last week and weeks leading up to this day and now I'm trying to focus on honouring Brian's memory with thoughts of all the years we had, the love and laughs we shared, the family and life we created together rather than him being gone."

"I'm not there yet, Mom."

Pam nods, "No one is going to be judging you for crying or being sad right now, Sarah."

"I think recent events in my life have led me towards becoming more cynical and I'm not certain that statement is true."

"I understand, but, don't let thoughts of what could happen affect how you act or feel today."
