"Are you nervous?"
Sarah nods in response to her wife's question. "It's been a while since I've preformed fully acoustic and singing my own material."
"You're going to rock it, superstar!"
Sarah chuckles. "Thank you for coming with me."
"I only came because the car is in my name."
"Is that the only reason?"
Abby chuckles and shakes her head, "Nope. My gorgeous, talented wife is performing and I wouldn't have missed it for the world." They share a quick kiss and then Abby heads back out to retake her place at the table with Tanner and Pam.
"How's she looking?"
"Nervous."
Pam nods. "She always has had really bad stage fright, but, once she gets up there, she's unstoppable. What name did she finally settle on using?"
"Rose Miller."
Pam smiles and nods. "Perfect."
Sarah studies the words on her phone one last time as there's a knock and she's told to make her way to the stage.
"Please welcome to the stage, Rose Miller."
Sarah smiles as she makes her way to the centre of the stage and embraces the spotlight shining down on her.
"Thank you, for having me. Tonight, I'm going to sing an original song entitled, Now That I Found You." [Terri Clark]
Tanner leans over, "Have you heard this one?"
Abby shakes her head. "She told me that she was working on something new and that she'd already recorded it at the studio because it felt all kinds of right, her words, not mine."
"Shhh!" Pam chuckles as the two separate and Sarah begins playing.
"How can I believe
That my heart would find someone like you
You see me, the real me
No in between, I had nowhere to hide
You took away the walls around me
Made me feel safe to share my truth
I see the heavens open, a heart that once was broken
Is holding nothing back
Now that I found you
You hold me like a prayer, you touch me everywhere
A lifetime just ain't enough to love you true
Now that I found you
Now that I found you ..."As Sarah sings the last few lines, she scans the room and locates her table, seeing her wife wiping at her eyes and struggles to maintain her own composure while finishing up.
Applause fills the room as Sarah steps back from the microphone, acknowledges the crowd, unplugs, and makes the walk off stage.
Tanner stands up and leans over to Abby, "You need to get her out of here; I just overheard that girl at the table behind us talking about how much she sounds like Selena Dagger. We'll meet you at the car."
Abby grabs her jacket and purse and speaks with security, before being let through, locating Sarah, helping her to collect her things and vacating the premises as quickly as possible. Tossing Tanner, the keys, Abby, and Sarah climb in the backseat after placing her guitar and case in the trunk. Abby leans over and kisses her wife, "I love you."
Sarah smiles. "Love you. But why did we need to get out of there so quickly?"
"Tanner overhead a few people at the table behind us discussing how much you sounded like Selena Dagger and we didn't want any issues."
"Guess it's not going to be an easy as I thought to blend in and perform as a nobody."
Abby shakes her head. "We can change your physical appearance and clothes all you like but, your voice is going to give you away every time."
