Sarah pulls the car over and puts it in park.
Abby turns and looks at her, knowing exactly what she's thinking. "You're going to be joining me in a matter of days."
"I know and I'm fine with that, what I'm not fine with is not being able to kiss my wife goodbye at the airport." They both remove their seatbelts and share a long kiss, before buckling back up.
"You good now?"
"Not really, but I'll make do. I'm going to miss you, Babe."
Abby reaches over and takes her hand, squeezing it. "Me too."
Sarah puts the car back in drive, signals, checks her mirrors, and pulls back on the road to continue the drive to Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Pulling to the curb, Sarah helps Abby collect her luggage from the trunk of the car and they share a long hug, before saying their goodbyes and the singer can only stand and watch her wife head inside to check in and get ready for her flight to Houston to meet up with her United States Women's National Teammates as they hold camp and prepare for their Olympic Qualifiers.
With Abby off, Sarah makes the drive home and is met at the door by Bobby. "Hey, Bobs."
"Abby get off, alright?"
Sarah shrugs, "I guess so. I dropped her at the curb, watched her walk inside and then left."
"A package came for you while you were out; I set it on your bed."
"A package? I wasn't expecting anything. Who's it from?"
Pam smiles and shrugs. "Go and see."
Sarah kicks off her shoes and heads upstairs to her bedroom. Taking a seat on the bed, she eyes up the box and noting the return address is her own apartment in Cali, realizes there's only one person it could be from. Ripping the tape off, she opens the box, finding another one inside it and after lifting the smaller box out and opening it, lets out a laugh as she lifts a black cowboy hat from the box and puts it on her head. Seeing a note at the bottom of the box, she pulls it out and reads it,
"Sarah,
I hope you don't mind that I used your apartment key one last time, to let myself in and locate this for you. Abby let me know that you were planning on performing while in Houston and I figured this would look sexier on you then another ball cap. Rock on, superstar! XO Tanner."
Wiping the tears forming at her eyes, she stands up, walks over to the mirror, and adjusts the hat on her head before making her way downstairs to show her Mom.
"What do you think?"
Pam smiles, "Is that the one you wore in the Done and Dusted video?"
Sarah nods and smiles, "Indeed it is. Tanner wasn't even working for me then; I wonder how he knew I kept it."
"I've no doubt that Tanner had a complete mental inventory of all your clothes and accessories, in order to ensure that you were always looking your absolute best. So, what are you planning on wearing with it?"
Sarah smiles, "How would you like to come thrifting with me? I'm sure we can come up with a couple of looks. I may not have Tanner anymore, but I do have a pretty good sense of what looks good on me and what I can wear in order to stay off radar."
Pam nods and chuckles, "It's been a while since we've been clothes shopping together."
"Maybe we can pick you up some new stuff as well because I've noticed that some of your clothes have gotten thread bare. It's time we spend money on ourselves and not be so concerned about nickel and diming everything. I'm freshening up and we're heading out." Sarah starts towards the stairs and stops, "But first, I'm taking Bobby out, so we don't come home to any surprises."
