"Thank God, Chandini dear, you are safe," Maa said, patting my head; Papa did the same, and Muktha hugged me.
After removing the glass piece, the first thing I did was wrap Rudra's hand, taking care not to hurt him. But he was looking ahead—not even a hint of pain on his face. Papa and Maa exchanged a look as if they were aware of something.
Today, I worried a lot of people because I was careless. When Rudra and I returned downstairs, I noticed housekeepers and a group of about fifteen or so men dressed in black running around the house. Then Rudra informed everyone that he had found me. Then there is Athwa, who was looking for me under the coffee table and behind the door. I cannot stand his innocence. He is just too adorable.
They searched me everywhere but the library, and after everyone had calmed down and settled. We had dinner and then went to our respective rooms. Everything seems to be fine with everyone except Rudra. He's been on edge since we returned from the library. His eyes followed every movement I made.
When we got to our room, I was already on my side of the bed. I saw him popping a tablet in his mouth. Is he sick or what? It took him a while to fall asleep, but once he did, I quietly got up and went to his side, taking the tablet pack.
It was sleeping pills. He is taking them, but he is having difficulty falling asleep.
-------------------------------
I awoke the next morning to an empty bed; he was gone. I completed my morning routine before heading downstairs to assist with breakfast preparation.
After breakfast, Maa called me to her room and informed me that tomorrow we will be hosting a party for Rudra's employees and business associates.
Muktha, as usual, took charge of organising everything, and I chose the menu. I spent time in the playroom with Athwa, and we watched a movie together. I was really missing Taara. I called Bhaiya several times, but he never returned my calls. It was strange because he always responds, regardless of the situation.
Everything had settled, and I was exhausted by the end of the day, and Rudra was once again late.
I had everything ready for him to eat when he arrived, but it was past midnight. I fell asleep near the table without even realising it.
I was awakened by clattering sounds. It was morning when I opened my eyes, and the housekeepers were cleaning. When I saw the table, I realised he had not returned home the night before.
I went to our room, sad and angry, and decided to freshen up. I did not even eat my dinner because of him. I am never going to wait for him.
I went downstairs and saw people decorating the mansion with flowers and lights. Muktha instructs them on how and where she wants the flowers and everything else.
I went into the kitchen and told the cook to start preparing for everything we decided on the previous day.
"Did Rudra leave for the office already?" Maa asked as she walked into the kitchen.
