!!Trigger warning!!
"Hello?"
"Hello? Am I speaking with Rudra Kapoor?" Said a man from the other side.
"Speaking, yes."
"This is Delhi Police, sir. A car registered in Mrs. Nisha Kapoor's name has been involved in an accident."
"What?! Mumma!! Is she okay?"
"We attempted to get in touch with Mr. Vijay but got no response. We request that you come to NH 8 as soon as possible." Ignoring my question, the man said.
I tried to call my father but got no answer, and I threw away the phone, pulling my hair.
I started driving to the location, which would take about half an hour. I drove like a crazy person and broke a lot of traffic laws in an attempt to get there as quickly as possible.
As I got closer, I noticed the area was crowded. I jumped out of the car and shoved everyone who was attempting to reach my mother as the ambulance arrived, alarms blaring.
As I ran near, I saw my mother's car flip over.
The car's front end was completely crushed.
I dashed past the officers when I noticed my mother's hand hanging out the window and her watch, which he had given her for her last birthday, covered in blood.
I got to her and dropped to my knees, clutching her hands tightly, and tried to call her.
"Mumma! I am here! Look, you are going to be fine. Mumma?!" I called out, hoping she would open her eyes.
I caught a glimpse of her face, and the image stayed with me.
Her head was bloodied and cracked open. My hopes of saving her vanished when I saw a large piece of glass piercing through her neck. Blood was sputtering out as if it were water.
My body froze upon seeing her condition, and I didn't even realise when I was being dragged away from the spot. Two officers grabbed my arms and began dragging me away from the vehicle. I thrashed in their grasp, pleading with them to let me go.
"Please leave me!! Meri mumma ko nikalo waha se!" I screamed in their grip.
(Get my mother out of there!)"Sir, please! The petrol is leaking, and we are trying to get the body out of the car! You must understand." One of the officers said.
I yanked them away and grabbed him by the throat.
"Do not call her a body! She's not dead," I screamed, in the officer's face and tightening my hold.
The man began choking, and more officers arrived, yanking me away.
"Help her! She is stuck in there! Help her! Please!" I begged as I hit the floor, but they would not stop dragging me back.
