"No! Do not touch it, kids," I warned Taara and Athwa, who were about to touch a very hot paratha.

I am in the kitchen of my house, preparing breakfast for us. Barkha and Bhaiya are getting ready for their work. My phone's screen lit up, and I checked it.

*286 missed calls from Moron*

Moron: My darling, Pick up the phone!

Moron: Please, I am very sorry!

Moron: At least respond to my texts!

"Let us go, kids, set the table, and then we will eat breakfast." I ignored the text and moved to the table to arrange everything. We began eating when Barkha and Samay Bhaiya arrived.

We were laughing and making fun of Barkha for almost burning down the house.

My phone rang with Rudra's name on it, but I declined the call. Then it rang several times.

Is he incapable of taking a hint? I am ignoring him!

"Who exactly is it? Pick it up; it must be important," Bhaiya said, and I nodded, sighing.

"yes?" I said this while avoiding my brother's smile and my friend's wiggled brows.

"uh-- ahm, yes! Where did you put my black tie?" he asked, clearing his throat.

"Every tie you own is black," I muttered into the phone as I rubbed my forehead.

He called me 286 times to ask this question.

"Right!" He coughed and hung up, saying something that I did not understand.

We continued our breakfast, and I smiled at Athwa, who was helping Taara eat her food. After a minute, my phone rang once more, and it was Rudra. Bhaiya cocked his brow at me.

"What?" I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"Where are my socks, Chandini?" His voice has a croaky tone to it.

"They will be in your side of the closet, in the second drawer," I heard a hustling sound, "Yes, found them! Thank you so much!" I then hung up the phone.

We were all finished, and I was cleaning the dishes while the kids played and Bhaiya left for work. Barkha went to her house. Athwa walked into the kitchen, holding my phone.

"Bhabhi!" He showed me the phone screen, which showed that it was his brother calling again. I groaned loudly.

"Can you please put it on speaker, sweety?" He nodded, picking up the phone and pressing the speaker button.

"Darling, have you seen my red file?" he asked immediately.

"No! Check your bedside table" A hustling sound came from his side again.
