"I want to stay here for a few days. If you do not mind?"

Chandini inquires when she notices me preparing to leave.

My hand came to a halt, and I fixed my gaze on her. She averted her gaze and looked beside me as she picked up her nails.

"Okay," I said, walking towards the door.

"Okay?" she repeats and quickly comes to stand in front of me. preventing me from leaving.

"Yes, okay. Stay for as long as you want and let me know when you are ready to leave. I will come to get you." I tucked a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. But I found it odd that she was staring at me with her eyes wide open.

"Who are you? And what have you done to my psycho husband?" She folded her arms and looked at me suspiciously from head to toe.

Was I not supposed to agree with her? She did not like it the last time I tried to stop her, and she still does not like it now that I am ready to let her stay.

God! Women are confusing!

"So you want me to get mad about it?" I asked, my hand slipping into her hair and gripping it.

I drew her in closer and smirked at her suddenly flushed face.

"Uh... No... Uhm... Maybe a little. At least say that you will miss me or something." she grumbles, causing me to laugh.

"Meri jaan, mai apko bahut zada yaad karunga! Kese dur reh paunga? Agar aapki yaad me mar gya toh?" I said and huffed out sadly, putting my hand over my heart.
(My love, I will miss you very much! How will I be able to stay away? What if I die missing you?)

She pouted at me, and I leaned in for a long kiss on her lips.

"Nautankibaaz hote jaa rahe hain aap, din-ba-din." Breaking the kiss, she said.
(You are becoming more dramatic day by day.)

"Lekin aapko pasand hain."
(But you like it.)

"Han woh to hain. Dono pasand hain, drama bhi or unhe karne wala bhi." She said it with a wink and pushed me out of the house.
(Yes, you are right. I like both the drama and the one doing it.)

Did I hear her right?

She actually meant she liked me.

Oh, my fucking god! Yes, she did!

I left while smiling like a lunatic, the whole ride till home.

The following morning, I awoke with difficulty and to the constant ringing of my phone. I slept like a dead person. But the first thing that came to mind was that Chandini likes me, and it brought a smile to my face.

I wanted to bring her with me after that, but her smile and happiness were more important.
