Episode 33: Apex

"Darius is still inside." Brooklyn pointed out to us. "He must have got a good reason." Kenji said. I then flew up to scout for Junior and saw she was moved to a platform. I landed down. The t.rex is being taken down below. I don't know what they plan to do." I said. "See if Kash or Darius is there." Sammy said. I flew back up and in fact they were going down. I came down again. "They are going down with it, must be to heal for another battle." I said. "How can we get to them?" Ben asked. "The feeders, would lower down and take us in." Brooklyn said. "Which feeder?" Kenji asked. "The one here is damaged and the other one is in the desert for the saber tooth." Brooklyn said. "We better hurry." Sammy said and we began to walk through the tunnels and into the desert. "Hopefully we can make it past him." Omega said. "I was going to try and reason with him, think about it. He hates humans more than anything so why not help us?" I said. "Be careful, he took out your most powerful form." Omega said. "What about my dragon form?" I asked. "Maybe." She said.  We walked out into the scorching heat and to make this easier on everyone I turned to my dragon form and kept them sheltered with my giant wings. We walked for a while. "Where is that feeder?" Kenji complained. "We'll wind it soon enough I'm sure." Brooklyn said. Something then approached from the heat of the sun almost like a mirage vision but it was definitely real. "What is that?" Ben asked. Soon Spino walked up to us and looked down. "He's bigger than you." Kenji whispered to me. Spino looked me in the eye. I flexed his claws and made a resonating growl. "You are my enemy." He snarled. "Run." I told Omega. He roared and I roared back and we fought. The others ran as us two giants clashed. "Listen Spino, we can help you get revenge on the humans. We can let you kill them. We are sorry for what happened to you." I told him as I was trying to dodge his claws swiping at me. "Nothing will ever help me. No amount of revenge can help me. I am the apex predator and lost my family and I accepted it." Spino roared and bit my horns. I slapped him with my tail. "What are you, human?" He asked as he bit my horn and slammed me into a rock, destroying it. "To put it bluntly, a dragon." I said and used my fire in front of him. He ran through the fire and bit my mouth shut. I then flapped up and grabbed his back. I then flapped up higher and higher. Before we got any higher he clawed my legs and in the pain I had let go of him. He plummeted to the ground but I grabbed him before he smashed into it. I sat him down. "Now, what do you say?" I asked. He began laughing. "Not with you." He said and slapped me to the ground. "I thank you for saving me but that doesn't mean I'm going to help you at all." He grabbed my horns and bit my neck. I roared out in pain. "I will kill humans later. You should be lucky that I won't kill you this time." Spino told me. He walked away. "Why though?" I asked. "I don't need you dead, I am not too hungry but I must kill the humans in my territory." He said. "No, let me at least get them out of here." I said. "You better hurry." He snarled. "Why are you aggressive and nice." I said as I flew up. "Life made me aggressive but being nice goes a long way." He said. "By the way, you have a name?" I asked. "Apex." He said. "Well I think we will meet again I'm sure Apex. Hopefully working for the same goal." I said. "Perhaps." He said. I flew to the others as he chased behind us. For now Apex was ruthless but neutral. I saw a saber tooth fighting Gamma as Saber. I sent a pillar of flame down by making it run away. I landed down. I turned back. "Who won?" Kenji asked. "We fought before and he won and this time it was a draw but he still kind of won." I said. "Can't believe you lost." Kenji said before Omega glared at him. "Everyone loses sometimes." I said. "We have to leave though, he's coming for us." I told them. "So a reinforcement option is not available?" Omega asked mentally. "Nope." I said. Soon the saber tooth jumped through a hole in the ravine and tried to get us until Apex snatched him up and killed him. Another meal for him. "Let's get to that feeder." Omega said and flew up as Shriek. I turned to my dragon form and had the rest climb on. "Why didn't we do this sooner?" Sammy asked before they all were on. It felt uncomfortable and a little heavy but I could still fly. Thankfully Omega had gamma in her talons and we flew to a feeder.

We came to the feeder as it was going down. "It's closing, we won't be able to jump down." Brooklyn said. Me and Omega had the same idea. "Oh no." Yaz said as she realized it. We dove down into the feeder and turned to normal and we all landed down on our feet, all fours or sprawled. A few groans but nothing major. We got to the bottom and began going around the area when a few BRADs were making more BRADs. I snarled and took out the online ones. Darius then came to us. We gave him a hug. "You okay?" Yaz asked him. "Yeah, I have been distracting Kash and found out that there are some little chips controlling the dinosaurs in battle, I can stop them. The boss is also coming soon. I'm gonna stay behind and see what I can still learn." Darius said. "Good luck then." I told him. Kash then arrived and we scattred to the elevator and went up.
