I heard arguing downstairs. I could tell from a mile away it was Hermione yelling at Ron, even if she didn't say his name. They should just kiss already, in my humble opinion.
"Don't be such a pig Ronald Weasley." Hermione said.
"I'm not! I'm just telling you what Harry and I saw at the back of the Quidditch stands." Ron whined defensively.
Harry noticed me first once I came down. "So my dear sister has a date." He said teasingly.
Hermione came up to me, "You look beautiful Cas, he won't be able to take his eyes off you!"
Ron butted, "Apparently it's not just his eyes."
"Ew shut it Ron." Harry said, hitting him on the arm.
There was a knock coming from outside.
"Best of luck Jamie. Have fun." Harry said.
"You really do look good Cas!" Ron added as I walked out the room.
Cedric had on black pants, a white under shirt, and another pale shirt overtop.

"You look beautiful." He said admiring me.
"And you look absolutely handsome." We looked at each other for a second until he broke the silence.
"Well, shall we go then?"
I nodded. He gave me his hand and I took it as we walked out of the castle and into the courtyard, leading to the direction of the town.
"Everything looks so wonderful in the fall. I know the leaves are falling off but I adore the colors." I said, looking at the trees we passed.
"I mostly enjoy seeing the birds preparing for winter. I find it so interesting how caring such a small animal can be for something even smaller."
I smiled to myself at his answer. It was simple but very sweet.
We got to the Three Broomsticks and he led me to a table.
"What would you like? Completely my treat."
I stared at the menu they had plastered on the wall with chalk.
"A butterbeer and.. The shepard's pie. What are you getting?"
"A butterbeer as well and the Beef Sunday Roast. I'll go order and I'll come back when it's ready."
I didn't mind being left alone for a moment. I mean I'm not quite sure it's dating protocol but I didn't think much about it. I actually enjoy being left to my thoughts. I think it's because I have so many. You can never really be lonely if you're talking with yourself. Which sounds mad but I think it makes sense conceptually. Cedric is quite nice. But I don't really get what everyone keeps saying about him. Fred keeps making passes and I can unfortunately never ignore the things that come out of Ron's mouth. I think it'd make sense just not to listen to them and figure out things for myself.
"Here you go, your shepherd's pie and butterbeer. Hope I didn't keep you waiting too long."
"Believe me it barely felt like a minute."
"So, Black, that's a pretty big deal of a family."
I nodded as I took a spoonful of my food.
As I finished chewing I said, "Yes well, my father is estranged from the whole ordeal that is his family so, I kinda have my own thing going on."
He seemed more interested, "How so?"
"Oh well, I have two dads. My biological father Sirius, he doesn't have any connection to his blood family. My mum died the second I popped out so not much going on there either."
"Oh wow I'm so sorry."
"Awe don't be, I don't care much for the family I never knew from my dad's side. They casted him out so why would I want to know them? And I never knew my mum so it's not a sour topic, but Remus is a bit like a mum, very protective."
"Remus is your other dad?"
"Yes, he was actually the defense against the dark arts teacher during your fourth year. He's Zig- Belle's dad."
"Professor Lupin? I loved him, I hope he's doing alright."
"Just fine really, he's a lovely father. He doesn't mind working from home." I smiled, I don't call Remus 'dad' very much, but he's nothing less than that.
"You mentioned your sister?"
"Ah yes Belle. She's the bouncy girl I'm always with. Straight brown hair, a bit taller than me, bunny nose with prominent cheekbones."
"We have her in charms, yes?"
"Mhm, I'm closer to her than my brother, we adore our brother but there's just something different with a sisterly bond. She was very excited for me to go on this date."
He laughed, "I'll take that as good praises. And your brother?"
"You for sure know him. The famous Harry Potter. After his interaction with 'He Who Shall Not Be Named' my dad took him in because he's his god-father. I didn't know Harry's dad either unfortunately but he's held to very high praises. I'm named after him."
"Really?"
"Yes, well, my middle name. Harry's father was named James so my middle name is Jamie. But enough about my rambling, tell me about you."
"Well my family is nowhere near as large. I'm an only child, I'm quite close to my father, and I really love my mum."
I laughed, "Well I do hope you love you mum Diggory, she's your mum."
He laughs with me, "I'm also currently a prefect and the Captain and seeker for the Hufflepuff quidditch team."
"Ooh yes I heard." I said, caught off guard by his face dropping.
"Oh you've heard.. I don't suppose you've heard some negative things as well?"
I could tell by his expression he's heard all about the things people say about it. Whatever it is, it's not my place to ask.
"Not at all. High praises all around." I said.
His smile came back. He straightened up his posture, "That's great."
We spoke for a good deal of time, I almost didn't even realize it was getting dark.
"Oh shit! We should get going before dinner." I said standing up rather quickly.
"I'll clean up here, you go right ahead." He said.
"Oh thank you so much, I had the most wonderful time. I'll send an owl the moment I get to my dorm."
He beamed, chuckling as he said "Alright! Go on!"
I rushed out of the town back towards the castle. I was pumping my legs so hard I felt my calves start to burn. But one thing about me is that punctuality was a priority. Once I got into the halls I had to maneuver myself from crashing into people.
"Excuse me!.. Sorry!.. 'Scuse me!" I said, weaving through randoms, making sure I especially don't knock into the younger kids.
As I rushed I ran into the last person I wanted. Quite literally, I ran straight into him.
"Shit! I'm so sorry!" I said, as I got planted onto the ground.
I heard laughter. I looked up to see Draco, Blaise, Lorenzo, Theodore, and of course, Mattheo. Who actually wasn't laughing at me unlike his clones.
"Good to know this one's a klutz." Draco laughed.
Mattheo added as he stared down at me, "Another issue for my mental notes." He paused.
"I'll meet up with you guys at the dining hall. I'll deal with this." He said.
His friends looked confused, but they shrugged, not asking questions. Once they were visually out of sight, he handed his hand out to me. Did he really think I'll let him help me when he just insulted me? I slapped it out of my face, pushing myself off the ground and dusting myself off.
"And they say chivalry is dead." He rolled his eyes. "What were you even doing sprinting like a lost child?"
I furrowed my eyebrows, "None of your business."
"Seeing as you almost left me concussed I do believe it's my business." He crossed his arms.
I scoffed, "If you must know, I was coming back from a date. Not that you'd know how that goes, chivalry is dead and all."
He bit the side of his cheek, "What the poor soul do that had you running away like that, huh?"
With a tinge of annoyance I said, "Nothing at all. Nothing wrong, It was a wonderful date I just wanted to get back to the castle before sundown."
He laughed to himself.
"What?"
"You're a little too uptight aren't you?"
"Excuse me?"
"Oh no, no insult intended, just a question."
"Goodbye Riddle." I said, walking past him.
As I walked away I got that staring feeling once again, and it lingered this time. But I didn't want to turn back. I hoped beyond hope that if I did turn back, he wasn't looking at me.
