I stared frozen for a moment. It was Mattheo. Not just him but with Daphne Greengrass. He had her pushed up against the wall. They were snogging, very aggressively I might add. Even in the poor lighting I could see her red lipstick all over his face, fading down into his neck, his shirt was unbuttoned, tie loose and disheveled. His hands were trailing her waist and I was stunned. Not even just stunned. I was angry. I was angry at him. I was hurt too. I was so hurt. I know I had no right to be. But fuck I was hurt.

The strap of her dress slid down a bit to which I finally had some words knocked back into me. "Oh shit- I am so sorry for interrupting." I said, eyes wide as I swiftly turned around.

I heard Mattheo speak, "Fuck Cas."

Hearing him say my name, as if nothing happened. Even when I need him he makes me so fucking angry. I can't keep playing this game with him where he chases me off to wherever I need to go. I decided not to walk away entirely, and just hide in a corner, nowhere in their view. I heard two sets of footsteps coming closer, as if they'd even hear me, I held my breath.

"Mattheo stop!" Daphne yelled at him.

"Fuck off Daphne, now is not the time."

"What the hell do you mean it's not the time Mattheo?"

"I mean it's not the time."

"Stop giving me indirect answers and say something serious."

"Fine! What is it that you want Daphne!"

Her voice raised, "Why are you mad at me as if it's a problem we were making out?"

"I'm not mad Daphne."

"Then better question, why are you running after Black like a lost puppy dog?"

I decided to try and zone in on their conversation rather than the music.

"I'm not Daphne."

"Then? Why do you just get up and zone out whenever she's around? It's been

happening for months."

"Daphne, come on you know that's not true."

"It most certainly is. We all know you've had a vendetta for this girl for forever but suddenly it's like you're obsessed with her. Maybe even entranced or something."

"Daphne, what are you even saying right now?"

"I'm saying that there's clearly something going on. You think I don't hear your friends talk? They all think something's going on too. You disappear from hanging out with me for who knows how long and for some reason I'm still here waiting on you."

"Daphne, I never asked you to do that."

"I know that but seriously. You shower me with all this affection and then you're cold the next day. If I'm lucky the next week."

"We're not dating."

"Fuck Mattheo I know that. Obviously I know that. But I want to date you. I wanna be your girlfriend. I love you."

The room fell silent, just for our area. I waited patiently, desperately to hear what'd he'd say.

"Well I don't."

I felt sorry for her. I did. I really really did. And I was angry for her. I even felt responsible. If I had known she felt for him in that way, I wouldn't have let him lead her on. But at the same time I can't control what he does. Now that I know how he acts with her though, I don't wanna see how he'll act with me when the next girl comes along.

"Are you fucking serious right now." There was a sheer pain in her voice.

"I don't love you Daphne."
