All Over Her

Chapter 63: surprise

We got back to school a day earlier than we had planned. We unloaded all of our things and Ziggy told me she has it handled in our room. I decided that since it was so empty I could go to the school's library for some light reading. It was close to sundown and the candles began to light in the room. As I perused through the different sections I wondered how vast the library actually was. I mean academically I assume they have a limitless variety but in terms of leisure... that's where I decided I'd take more time to look at.
I'd imagine for a school of this stature they'd have something for fun. After going through rows and rows of unimaginably boring informational texts I finally found a small section labeled "fiction" with a little chair next to it. It was pretty hidden in the back corner of the library. I don't think anyone would even think to look back here since it's much easier to just read in your room. I go to reach for a book but a hand reaches for the same one.
"Oh I'm so sorry-" My jaw drops.
"I knew you wouldn't be studying." It was Nico.
"What are you doing here?" I embrace him tightly.
"I got into so much shit in Durmstrang they sent me over here. I found out yesterday and they sent me on a train straight to here. Had the sorting ceremony and everything. Look! I'm a Ravenclaw." He pointed to the emblem on his robe.
"What the fuck are we doing here then? Come back to the Gryffindor common rooms and we can surprise everyone else."
"Sure, I need the mini tour anyways since I'll probably spend most of my time there."
I smile, grabbing his arm and leading him out of the library. I dragged him nearly up the steps just to get to the common room.
"Okay first we're surprising Zig." I whispered.
"Is she still not letting me call her that?"
"Not at all." I said, opening the door so that I could go in first.
Ziggy was jumping trying to put a frame on one of the higher parts of the wall. She noticed me come in.
"Jamie, can you help give me a boost, I think we forgot to grab the stool from home."
"Yeah sure." I said once she turned away. I motioned for Nico to come in.
As she continued jumping he snuck up behind her, "You gotta put more power into the jump Belle."
She immediately paused and turned, "NO WAY NICO!"
They gave each other a huge hug and she pulled away, "Stop, you look adorable in your robes! It's so nice to have you here!' She ruffled his hair.
She turned to me, "Oh J we gotta have a party, so that he can meet Ron and Hermione and Ginny, oh and Luna and Neville and-"
"I'll go tell Ron and Harry." I said. "Nico, feel free to make yourself at home."
He sprawled himself onto my bed, "Already done."
I went into the boys room and Ron was already scrambling for something he lost.
"Hi Ron! Where's my buffoon of a brother."
"Hi yourself, he's just in the bathroom."
"Don't call me a buffoon, only one of us have a red ass and it's not me."
"That's a baboon dumbass."
"Same shit."
"Whatever, we're throwing a party." I turned to Harry "Nico's here and he's going here, he did it as a surprise."
"No way?? That's awesome! Is it cool if I invite Draco, I think today's the day."
"Duh invite Draco! I'm proud of you Har."
"Wait- who's Nico?"
"You gotta catch up Ron, It's a friend we met during holiday."
"Got it..."
"Alright, Harry you send out word to Draco... Ron you get everyone else. And Harry, if you pass by Ginny ask her to grab Luna please."
They both nodded understandingly and walked out without another question asked. I feel better about this term already.
