The cold came as quick as it left. But for two days it really kicked my ass. Maybe it was more of a favor because my birthday just came sooner. I've been in my room alone since Tuesday because I kinda kicked Ziggy out because I didn't wanna get her sick so she's been bunking at Harry's room. Blaise has been passing by the two days I was out to bring me potions work. I found it curious that he was still being so nice but it hasn't been that long. I invited him to my birthday party today so I hope by extension of an olive branch he will continue his kindness.

I sat up in bed as my door opened. First it was Fred holding the door, followed by George flailing around some streamers. Ron and Hermione came in with balloons, Ginny throwing confetti on me behind them. Finally, holding a cake together was Harry and Ziggy.

"Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Jamie! Happy birthday to you!" Everyone sang.

Harry and Zig brought the cake closer to me so that I could blow all seventeen candles out. They placed it on my desk for a second.

"George love, take a picture of us please!" Ziggy said, running to her chest and grabbing her camera.

She handed it to George, rushing to my side while Harry was at the other.

"Alright guys pose! I'm taking two." George said.

I made a seventeen with my hands as Zig kissed one cheek and Harry kissed the other. The flash went off twice, giving us two copies of the picture. One will definitely be going to our dads.

"Well we're super impatient so I wanted to give you your present now." Ziggy went to dig under her bed, "This is from Harry and I."

She handed me a box. It was wrapped in forest green paper with little frogs on it, the bow on top was made of string and very uneven. Harry's touch I see. I carefully unraveled it, taking off the wrapping gently because I liked to save that sort of thing for memories. Looking inside, there was a crystal ball attached to a stand, on the inside was a picture of our family.

"A snow globe?" I asked, shaking it.

Harry chimed in proudly, "Cooler than that, everytime you shake it it changes seasons and so do our outfits."

I shook it again, snow fell around us in our winter coats, Harry's cheeks red in the picture. I shook it again, the snow now turning to flower petals, us now in pretty floral and pastel outfits. Then the flowers turned to a giant sun beam, Remus' sweat reflecting in the light. I shook it once again as it was now falling leaves, my favorite.

"I absolutely love it. Thank you guys." I said, giving them a hug.

"Get dressed darling, we'll see you at breakfast. Our presents for you will be given at your party." Hermione said, grabbing Ginny to exit.

I nodded as everyone left, but Fred stayed back.

"Happy birthday freak." He sat down at the edge of my bed.

"Get out pervert I need to change." I threw my pillow at him.

"I will, I just wanted to talk."

"Uh oh what I do." I said playfully.

"Nuh uh you didn't do anything. I just wanted to greet you Happy Birthday, and give you a little something before the party."

He handed me a small box.

"It's not a roach is it? I'll smack you if it's a roach."

He laughed, "Just open it."

Opening the box hesitantly I found a simple gold ring.

"Damn Freddie I thought I was clear that I didn't like you like that."

"Look at the inside of the band Cas."

I pulled it out of the box to read the engraving.

"Cest... Fred-nds? Freddie I don't read gibberish."

"It's not gibberish, the C is for your name and the Fred is self explanatory. It just reads best friends."

My heart smiled. The gift was thoughtful no matter how corny. I placed the ring on my pointer finger on my left hand.

"Terribly corny Freddie but I love it. Thank you my friend." I said, going over to hug him.

"I'll get out now, see you downstairs." He said, walking out and shutting the door softly.

I rolled out of bed, sort of making myself fall on the floor. It hurt but I just wanted to lay there for a moment. I did my regular morning routine, my har, brushing my teeth, et cetera. I finally let myself dress up a little more today since it was my birthday. I grabbed some dark jeans, a white silk shirt, and my dad's leather jacket once again.

I found my black loafers to pair with it

I found my black loafers to pair with it. I felt like it made me look very mature, very grown, very birthday.

I went to my sweet owl who was still resting peacefully on her perch. She sleeps most of the time because Ziggy and I don't send letters that often and she doesn't get disturbed by people either. But I did get a tap from my window. Seeing the owl delivering mail I took note of the black tie once again. My secret admirer, but this time it came along with a box. I took the mail and brought it to my desk.

Although I was alone I looked at the letter first because it just felt like the most polite thing to do.

'I heard it was your birthday, felt like this would compliment your beauty. You'll wear it well. Happy Birthday.'

Anonymous once again. I tied up the letter and put it right on top with the rest, sliding the black box in front of me. When I opened it I was almost speechless. It was a dainty gold necklace, the chain itself being thin with those flat types of links. It had a single charm. The charm was a clear orb, outlined by diamonds. It had a gold band around it with a single star. It looked like Saturn and it was beautiful.

I absolutely had to wear it instantly

I absolutely had to wear it instantly. It was me. Which sounds like such a stupid sentence but it was just so personal. I loved it so much that if I knew who my admirer was I could just kiss them.
