When Davina opened her eyes, her entire body ached from pain. She cried as she struggled to get out of bed, but it was pointless.
Axel came into her room after hearing her out in the hall to check on her. She looked at her father, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Davina, what's wrong?" Axel asked, and she looked down at her arms before turning to face him. " I'm not sure what's wrong with me. I haven't felt good for the past two days." He looked around, checking her body everywhere, after she told him.
"Your body is not responding. This cannot be a fever because God cannot become ill." He said, and she frowned. "But what if it's not the same for me?" Davina questioned, and he turned to face her.
"I'm not sure." He stated, he couldn't tell whether it was true or not. " For the time being, I'll have someone look into what's wrong with you. I'll see what I can do about your pain." He said as she nodded, soon he left the room.
When he went downstairs, he saw Caroline feeding Hope her breakfast. Caroline looked up and smiled at him, but when she saw his face, she frowned.
"What's wrong?" She asked and he frowned." Something is wrong with Davina." He said and her eyes widened." Is she okay? Is there something we can do?" Caroline asked, picking up Hope as she stood up.
"I'm going to go get someone and hopefully they can tell us what's wrong with her. For now, you just stay here and watch her." He said and she nodded as he left the house.
Caroline looked at the baby in her hand before heading upstairs to go see Davina. When she opened the door, her heart broke when she saw Davina in her state. The poor girl looked like she had been working her entire life, the way she was sweating.
"Hey, Davina." Caroline said as Davina slowly turned to look at her." Hey." Davina said as she started to cough." I would ask, how are you but we can both see that you are not fine." Caroline said and Davina chuckled at that before coughing again.
"Maybe it's not best to keep Hope near me. I don't know what type of sickness I have, and I do not want her to catch it." Davina said and Caroline smiled sadly at her as she went to put Hope down in her crib before coming back.
"It's going to be okay. Axel is going to go find help." She said and Davina nodded before closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.
Caroline put the covers over her as Axel came into the room with someone. Caroline looked at the woman as she got up from her seat.
"Now is there any way you could save her?" Axel asked the woman and she walked towards Davina. Caroline looked at Axel and he nodded to her.
The woman sat down on the edge of the bed before grabbing Davina's hand. She closed her eyes for a few seconds before opening them.
