Josh's POV

I have spent the whole week begging Denver to let me borrow a gun, so my mate could show me how to use it.

At first, he was trying to tell me that it was a bad idea, and that he doesn't want anyone shooting on a pack lands, at least if it's not necessary.

Then he started to ignore me, which was very funny, so my parents and I had a lot fun with this.

And today he finally had enough of my constant begging, so he told the guards to give me one of the guns.

To be honest I thought that he will lock me in the cellars for annoying him or something, but it seems that he has a soft spot for me after all.

So, I thanked him, and I took the gun from the guards, then I went straight to the house.

Now I try to find my mate, so I can tell him what we will be doing today, but I can't find him anywhere in the house, which makes me groan.

I sniff the air, and I follow the scent that leads to the back yard, then I smile when I see that he's playing with the babies, while dad is looking at them.

"Look what I have." I tell him, and he quickly turns his head to look at me.

"A gun?" He asks me, looking at the gun that I'm holding in my hands.

"Denver let me have it for a day, so now you can show me how to use it." I tell him with a smile.

"That's great." He tells me with excitement clear in this voice.

"Let's go into the woods then." I say, and he flinches when I say the word woods, but he stands up anyway.

I'm surprised that he will allow me to take him in the woods, after every thing that happened to him there, I think that he has more bad memories with the woods than good memories.

We walk around for a while, and he forces me to sniff out a squirrel, which is harder than he makes it seem.

And when we finally find one, he shows me how to use it.

I makes sure to remember how to aim it, and when the squirrel is on the ground, we move to find another one.

"Won't the pack think that there's some attack or something?" My mate asks me.

"Not really, some people train with the guns, so people here are used to this noise.

But before they start to train, they have to go to Denver and tell him that they will be shooting, and he informs the guard not not panic.

So, no one turns the alarm on, and if there's no alarm, the pack doesn't panic." I explain.

"Alright." He says, and then he points to one of the trees. "There's a squirrel." He tells me.

So, I look up to see where the squirrel is, and I take the gun form him, before I try to shoot it, but the bullet doesn't get even close to it, which makes Nicolas laugh.
