Phil woke up the next morning alone in the big bed. He reached to the bedside table and grabbed his glasses and looked at the time: 10:45 am. He could smell something cooking from the kitchen and it smelled good. He got up and made his way to the kitchen where he freshened up and then to the kitchen where Dan was making breakfast. Phil sneaked up behind him and wrapped his arms around his waist kissing his cheek. "Morning bear." He mumbled pressing another kiss to his cheek. "Good morning gorgeous. I made breakfast." Dan smiled turning the stove off and placing the food on two plates. Phil turned him around and pressed his lips on his for a soft and sweet kiss. "It smells delicious." Phil mumbled against his lips.

After breakfast they just had a lazy in bed day. They laid there cuddling and sharing sweet kisses. "Besides the part of me being at work for most of the time, our relationship hasn't changed one bit from when we were teenagers." Dan pointed out pulling Phil closer to him. Phil hummed in agreement as he left trails of soft kisses along his jawline. "And you're not as shy anymore either." Dan laughed softly. "Well I wasn't that shy around you, I mean we did make out in the school bathroom the first time we actually talked." Phil reminded him. Dan turned so he was on his side and snaked his arm around Phil's waist pulling him as close as possible. "The best part when we were teenagers was the fact that we were neighbors and our windows were right across from each other." Phil laughed remembering how many times they would just sit at their windows and have conversations using small whiteboards and markers. His thoughts were interrupted by a Skype call on Dan's laptop. "Its from your ID." Dan said sitting up, he knew it must be Joey so he gave Phil the laptop and turned over so he was laying down on his left side. He knew his scars made Joey uncomfortable so last thing he wanted was to make him uncomfortable and ruin his own mood. "Joey? Are you okay?" Phil asked as he accepted the call. "Hey Pop! Yeah I just missed you and Dad and wanted to see you two." He said looking into the webcam. Phil looked over at Dan who was looking over at him. "Your Dad is here next to me." Phil smiled. "C-can you tell Dad that I'm sorry for pushing him away? I know he thinks that I did that because of his scars but it was just that when I saw him it reminded me of how we almost lost him and it made me sad.." Joey explained. Phil nudged Dan and he sat up. "Its okay Joey." Dan said quietly as Phil turned the laptop towards him. Joey smiled the second he saw Dan "when are you two coming home?" He asked. "In a couple days, we'll see you soon."

"Daddy!!" Joey ran downstairs and jumped into Dan's arms hugging him tightly. Dan hugged him back tightly. "He's been asking when you'll get here since he woke up." Rachel laughed walking to them holding her baby. Chloe crawled towards Phil and reached up, he bent over and picked her up kissing her nose "Did you miss us princess?" Phil asked to which she just placed her little hand on his face in response and giggled. Dan still holding Joey walked over and kissed the top of Chloe's head. "Papa! Dada!" She said giggling. The two men and Joey looked at her shocked and happy because of her first words. "Our little baby is growing up." Dan smiled stroking her cheek with his finger.

"You seen so much happier Dan." His mother pointed out during dinner. "All thanks to Phil, I think this was all we needed to be honest." Dan smiled. He didn't try hiding his face from his parents anymore, he didn't even do that when they were outside, people looked but it didn't bother him. "When are you going back to work?" His father asked him. "In a few days actually, I can't leave James alone for too long." Dan said looking over at Phil who just smiled at him. Phil knew that he couldn't stay forever, he knew he had to get back to work eventually but he was glad that he was able to make him happy again before he left.
