*Lyra's P.O.V.*

An angry Gold stared intensely at Silver. Small infernos burned furiously in his yellow eyes. It scared me more than it seemed to yank a reaction out of Silver.

"Why do you keep following us?" Gold's question seemed to be rhetorical because we all knew why he was always around. He liked me and that is why he popped up wherever we happened to be.

Silver ignored the question.

"Hey, I'm talking to you!" Gold's fingers curled into a fist.

Silver had no reply.

"Hey-" I managed to stop Gold from firing a punch at Silver. My life was suddenly getting out of hand. What was with boys that made life so hard to live?

"Lyra," Gold growled, "the men are talking..."

Crystal didn't seem to react at all to Gold's sudden change in temper. Instead she watched, still like a statue. Faceless and without emotion. It scared me a bit more than Gold's hiss.

"Gold, stop," I ordered my old friend. Something didn't feel right to me about the new boy's change in personality. "Silver is my friend"

"Friend?" Gold's voice deepened dramatically. "Isn't this the same boy that nearly killed you in Cherrygrove City? The boy that continued to stalk you? The boy that obsessively draws you naked? Lyra, find a brain and think for once! Stop being so ditsy!"

A shock ran through my chest. I couldn't believe that the boy I once loved insulted me. I refused to shed a tear, blinking several times.

"Fine," I muttered, "I'll try to be smarter just as long as you decide to stop being such an asshole..."

Gold's angry eyes suddenly went soft. He must have realized his actions towards me. He reached for my arm before I swatted it away.

"Don't even bother," I growled. He pulled himself back.

"I-I'm sorry L-Lyra."

"No, I'm sorry that I even liked you in the first place. Who would've thought that a dirty boy that consistently pleasures himself on a regular bases and pretty much has dry sex with everyone he sees wouldn't be perfect for me? I'm done."

My words must have stung him because I noticed him flinch. His sorry face yearned to apologize, but I just wouldn't allow it. He had pushed me past the boundaries and he had nothing to pull me back with.

Crystal stepped away from the golden eyes boy. He suddenly seemed unappealing I assume. He collapsed.

"Lyra," Silver hummed, vibrating the air around my ears and sending a pleasant ring through my body, "I shouldn't be here..."

I shook my head in disagreement.

"I really do. I feel that I've done too much. Besides, I should really be looking for my Noctowl..." He exited the room slowly, vanishing.

"I guess I'll see you later..." My words echoed within the meeting room of the radio tower. Crystal shook.

"I can't believe that just happened," she whispered quietly to herself, "she really stood up for herself..."

"As for you," I stared violent daggers at the girly girl with the blue hair, "I'm sick and tired of your shit. Next time you try and mess with me, I promise that I will fuck you up."

Crystal went wide-eyed. After playing victim for so long, the last thing she expected me to do was defend my innocent self. "Okay," she nodded.

I stared at Gold, who knelt on the cold floor staring into space. I had taken a toll onto him making me feel a tad guilty. I stayed with my new acquaintances to keep the broken trainers company.

The entire trip back to Pallet was especially quiet. The three of us hardly spoke to one another. Green's disappearance really scarred us, forcing us to remind ourselves that we drive him away.

We landed in town gracefully on our legendary birds: Blue sharing a seat with me on Articuno and Red on Zapdos. We returned our Pokemon to their capsules and headed to the lab. Perhaps Green had returned home.

"Professor Oak?" Blue called as the three of us stepped in to a messy laboratory. I musky scent of old, worn out paper filled the small room. Bright computer screens lit their surroundings. It was rather dark, but we could identify the old man approaching us.

"Ah, children," he smiled, "how are those Dexes coming along?"

We stared at him bashfully and with with shame. Collecting all the Pokemon was what we were failing to do (other than work out our own relationships with each other). The Professor chuckled.

"By the looks of it, I'd say that you guys have other reasons to be here. So what's on your children's minds?"

"Uh," Blue gulped, "we were wondering if Green happened to be here..."

The professor stared blankly at her. "Well, no. I thought he was off traveling with you three. What happened?"

Blue scratched the back of her head nervously. "He ran away..."

The professor's eyes shut. "That boy..." he trailed off. "Well I guess we just need to hope for the best that he'll pop up somewhere. For now, all I can do is see if his sister Daisy can contact him..."

We sighed in disappointment.

"Good luck with finding him," Oak frowned, "I don't have a doubt that you three are capable of it."

I held the egg close to my chest in order to keep it warm as I sat under the shade of an old pine tree. "How odd," I thought, "why would she just give me an egg?" It's not that I didn't appreciate the gift, it's more that it surprised me. It's not everyday that a woman comes up to you and hands you an egg like 'it's dangerous to go alone, take this!' Like what the hell?

Gramps did teach me a lot about how to care for eggs, luckily. I spent most of my summer days looking after them in the lab, waiting eagerly for them to hatch. But I had never actually seen one hatch because Gramps said it was bad for the Pokemon to be attached to me when I wouldn't be its trainer. Sad, I know.

But something was different about this egg. I could tell something was special about the Pokemon inside. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but seriously.

I continued to stare observably at the egg buried under my arms. I wondered if all the Pokemon, which would be in this one. The possibilities were endless.

Shake!

I was startled a bit, but soon realized the egg shaking violently in my arms. I bright glow emerged from the egg as the shell burst open. A furry brown Pokemon rest in my arms.

"Eevee!" I awed. Such a rare Pokemon had been within the egg I had received from the woman. I never expected one of these, not in a million years.

The little Eevee cuddled me, brushing its adorable ears against my chest. A smile, an emotion I had only recently had forgotten about, crept upon my face. This was my child.

No one could ever give me this.

Lyra had lost it. That once sweet girl went sour in an instant. It kind of set me in a tone of uneasiness.

Is that really who she is inside?

What exactly made her so aggressive?

Why did she attack Gold like that?

What is even going on?

I pulled on my own hair in frustration. Nothing was making sense anymore. Everything seemed to be off kilter and it made me sick to my stomach.

"Lyra," I whispered to myself as I ran along the sidewalks of Goldenrod City, "why is everything so complicated when I'm around you?"

I paced myself along a path to nowhere...
