"Gold, what are you doing?" Crystal shouted. Gold was placed in a tough spot on the battlefield. His small Cyndaquil breathed heavily as it withstood another sand attack from the opposing Pidgey. Falkner, the gym leader of Violet City, proved to be tough.
"Pidgey, go for a tackle," Falkner ordered to his bird. The lightly colored pidgin glided elegantly into Cyndaquil's tiny stature.
"Cyndaquil," Gold cried, "use tackle!"
Cyndaquil missed due to the Pidgey's previous sand attack. The bird laughed at the little hedgehog. Cyndaquil wailed fearfully.
"Pidgey," Falkner smirked, "let's finish this."
As Pidgey swooped down for another tackle, Cyndaquil began to glow a magnificent white. It's little body stretched longer. Its legs were no longer stubs. Its new form, new name, became:
"Quilava!"
"Quilava," Gold screeched. "Let's finish this!"

From what I overheard, she would be at the gym. I don't know why, though. She does contests, not battles.
I felt a tap on my shoulder as I watched through the window of the Violet City Gym. I turned to my friend, Blaze. He began to give me signs. They read something along the lines of:
"Is she there? Your 'girlfriend'?"
He chuckled without a sound on the last part.
"She is not my girlfriend and you know that!" I hollered. "Besides," I breathed, "that would be disgusting! Ew! No! That sounds like a freaky fan fiction right there and I don't like it!" Blaze gave me a pair of innocent eyes. I sighed. "You remember we're only here to break up Red and Leaf, right?" He shook his head and signed with his hands:
"Actually, we're here to eliminate them. You don't want to kill them so we're breaking them up instead."
I just wanted to smack the kids face. He was right. I hated when he was right.
"Hey!"
I turned around and saw the red head from before. He looked especially mad today. I couldn't help but chuckle at him.
"Hey, Silver," I greeted with a smile. He pouted immaturely. "What's wrong?"
"Why the heck are you here?" Silver scoffed. Blaze began to sign, but Silver interrupted him. "Stop with the gestures and use some real fucking words!" Blaze slouched, reassembling a turtle hiding within its shell.
I felt myself get defensive. "Why the hell are you such a jerk? Just 'cause you have some daddy issues doesn't mean you have to take out your frustration on other people!" He turned away like a child. I took a few steps closer too him and began to yell things like:
"Look at me! Listen here! Why are you acting like a kid? Are you even listening?"
Silver kept his composure; he stood, pouting and ignoring me. He can be such a butt! He is nothing like the Silver I know.
"Silver!" I shouted once more, hoping he'd listen. He showed no response. In anger, I formed a fist with my hands and prepared to destroy his face.
"Stop!"
I turned to see the gym leader. Behind him were the group of friends. A gold-eyed boy and girl with blue hair held badges in their hands.
"What is going on here?" the man yelled louder than I had been. I felt my face burn in embarrassment. I was the child being scolded. "So?"
"Silver here was being a jerk and-"
"You decided to repay him with violence?"
"No, that isn't-"
"Leave now. Neither of you come back unless you're here for a gym battle." With that, Blaze followed behind me as I fled...

I watched as the boy in red ran along with another boy. Why was he here? Could he have been following me? Looks like I have a stalker of my own now...
Silver smirked at Lyra. "See 'ya later, stupid." He left after saying those last words to her.
