*Leaf's POV*
The crowd roared as the contest had began coming to a close. Lyra had made her way to the final round; this victory would grant her an entry into Johto's Grand Festival. I felt myself hoot and holler at my friend for support, no longer thinking about my failure of a romantic social life.
Lyra pranced onto the center stage, twirling around in her cute overalls she fashioned so adorably. She certainly had the upper hand in this battle with her partner, Maril, but the foe's Magmar seemed really menacing and strong. What an exciting matchup!
The two coordinators took their position. They both summoned their partners, releasing them from their capsules. Just as this happened, a stage light detached itself from the towering ceiling to land on the stage without harm. Silver rose from his seat, mumbling nonsense to himself before darting out of the auditorium. Giovanni watched him go, but like everyone else in the audience, shrugged the falling light source as a sweet and innocent accident.
The show continued to go on without a hitch. Magmar and Maril outperformed each other with marvelous awe. The two were destined for stardom!
Then the ground vibrated subtly. The crowd mumbled along, but quickly returned their attention to the show. Strangely, everyone felt it...
Violent shakes thrusted the audience to the floor. The performers stopped and watched in horror as walls began to collapse around the stadium. Bursting, crumbling and falling, the ceiling hit many of the audience members in the head. Horrific screams screeched through the air polluted with dust. Giovanni, in expert with the ground and earth instructed us to burry our heads under our seats.
And earthquake had struck.
*Lyra's POV*
I held Maril in my arms as if he were my sweet child. I was exposed on stage; I needed to run for cover. I managed to stand with my Pokemon in my arms. I couldn't find his pokeball. I searched around for a safe place and prepared to dart for the exit. I couldn't make it. I was dragged down with the splitting ground beneath me.
I saw the city beneath us. The stadium was heading into the sky. Slowly, it seemed, the ground fell with me.
Then I shut my eyes.
This was goodbye.
An end to my agony.
I felt myself be hit with a hard force. I ignored it as a rock landing on my body. But I had stopped falling. My eyes peeked at the world.
Silver breathed heavily over my frail body. I noticed the large pit behind him. He dove to rescue me before I could fall.
"S-Silver?"
He gulped, pulling himself away from me. He sat away with looks of fear sprawled across his cold face. He obviously had been suffering the same way I had...
"Silver." I felt myself repeat his name a hundred times. I couldn't believe him.
Even though he plays the tough guy,
he's actually the most caring guy I know.
And I love him all the same, even if he is my brother...
*Silver's POV*
Lyra's glistening teary eyes tugged at my heart. A forbidden romance crushed by the retched world. Her tiny tears trailed off her rounded cheeks.
