*Leaf's POV*

Where is everyone?

"Leaf, do you have Lyra's number?" Red's crimson eyes filled themselves with concern.

I shook my head, sadly.

Green emerged from his visit to the bathroom, joining bot Red and me at the table we dined. "I can't get a hold of Blue..."

A waitress returned with two glasses of cola and one filled with chilled water for me. She smiled politely asking if we needed anything before speeding off. Three of us sipped on our drinks without any knowledge of what was to come of us.

"Leaf, look!" Green slyly pointed out toward the window. A storm brewed itself in the sky.

"What is it? Something wrong?" The waitress returned with hot coffee.

"Um," I shuffled, "I don't think so..."

The waitress's eyes narrowed, her voice mumbling, "There's no hope then..."

My head strained suddenly, my body being left in a dark void. Everything had vanished. I was alone. No one would be able to find me.

"I'm scared," was all I could muster.

*Narrator*

Mew Two managed to escaped from the contest hall, all part of his plan. He would be able to single off fist the heroes of Kanto, then further his advancements for world domination. His cliche to want to take over humanity as a whole seemed unreasonable for a Pokemon, but he wished only to destroy it, mutilate it, for the beauty of Pokemon life. Pokemon were enslaved in his eyes: valuable only for their work. No one could ever be able to understand their true nature.

But a good two months had passed since he made his mark in Johto.

Giovanni resided himself in a nifty cabin near the Lake of Rage, both Blue and Silver living alongside the aging man. They never managed to find their friends, forcing them to wait. Silver groaned at the thought of losing Lyra in the heat of the battle as he jabbed at a pancake on his platter.

"Silver, calm down," Blue smiled, "we'll hear from them eventually." She had become more motherly, caring for the boys in the humble home. She cooked and tidied up the house a bit hear and there, still finding time for reading her magazines.

Silver pushed his plate away. "I'm not hungry."

"Silver," Giovanni glared at him firmly from across the table.

"You're not my dad."

"I believe I am."

"Shut up. I don't care."

Blue shook her head, sighing. "You aren't skipping another meal. You need to eat!" She managed to allow her eyes to stare softly into his. Silver groaned once more before taking back his dish and clearing it clean. This is how it was. Always. A pouty adolescent boy taking orders from the older teen only to please her. Blue worried about him, and it was obvious.

She had grown fond of him. He reminded her of herself. Especially when she referred back to her bratty years in preschool. She could especially relate to him about losing a love; Green had been long missing once again.

And as for Crystal, she became extremely proud. She'd failed to capture the blue beast, but she managed to make a rivalry of her loss. She focused on chasing Suicune. She had long forgotten her friends in the heat of the run.

Lyra and Gold however, traveled across Johto. They searched high and low for the truth about the Pokemon of legend. Gold collected his final badges and Lyra her ribbons along the way. They grew strong together, and they repaired their everlasting bond. Childhood had been restored. New relationships long forgotten.

Best friends.

It's quite odd what time does. Time tends to let thing work out, often for the better. For Lyra and Gold, they became comfortable with each other again. A journey screwed things over and whipped them both around, but when they refused to let go, they found themselves back where they started.

Back in New Bark Town.

Lyra pushed through the doors of her father's lab with a hop in her step, Gold's hand in hers. Professor Elm smiled with delight. "My dear Lyra, it's been a while!" He dropped his notebook down on a table, swooping his daughter into a hug. Lyra giggled, wrapping herself in her father's warmth. She had long missed her parent's love.

Gold hugged the man a short while after he'd let go of Lyra. "You seem to have gotten taller, boy," the Professor lied, boosting Gold's self esteem. The man viewed him like family after knowing him for so long.

"Right! I know I've grown at least an inch!"

Lyra rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "So what happened to mom?"

Professor Elm's darkly outlined eyes showed his newfound stress and energy loss due to his need to fill a broken heart with work. His studies focused on breeding, a human interpretation of love. He became lost in his work to push away his problems.

"She left," he frowned. "I wouldn't forgive her for lying to me... My child."

"You're still me dad," Lyra smiled, "no matter what papers say!"

Professor Elm warmed at the thought. "I love you, Lyra."

"I love you, too."

"Now what brings you here?" The professor let his ear become attentive to her stories and studies.

How marvelous.

Time.

It's linear. It's nonlinear. It's a web. It's abstract. It's confusing. It's an invention.

Time isn't real, but it also causes the world to revolve. An impossible understanding.

And Shadow knew this when he jumped through time. He made his way to this approximate time: the time everyone had dispersed. He hunted down the boys on the run. His objective was to save Fire and Blaze.

The bothers needed to live; they were humanity's last hope. They were the only ones who could reach out to Red and fix the damage before its done.

Heartbreak is as real as time.

It's an expression. A feeling. A human invention.

A useless invention...

...that  needed to be lost...

No one deserves the future ahead...
