"Fire, Blaze!" The shadowy figure leapt through the allies of Ekruteak towards the two boys in hiding. "Thank goodness you're both okay!"

The boys rest wrapped in blankets, sitting on old crates resting in front of a small fire. Canned beans, a somewhat nutritious supplement, lay above the wood in inferno. The teens obviously had troubles since the disbanding of the group.

"Please, Officer," Fire shooed the man, "we don't have anything to do with our father anymore. Leave us be." Blaze moved the can with metal tongs, his weak arm struggling to move it.

Shadow, the officer from the future, grew worried of the events leading to world destruction before him. Biting his nails, he stated, "We don't have time to waste. We are depending on the two of you to save us. You're our last hope."

The can of beans toppled over, spilling it's substances across the filthy concrete. Hopeless, the boys gave in. "Go away," Fire scoffed, lifting the can and its remaining source of nutrients, "we aren't saving the world. We'd rather die at this point. Nothing we can do..."

Shadow inhaled. Exhaled. Inhaled again. Slowly clearing his mind, he remained there with the boys. "I'm sorry to interrupt such lazy bastards. If you wanna die, than die. I'll just use the two of you as bait."

Fire growled. "What the hell are we supposed to do? We can't solve anything ourselves obviously. I don't see why a post apocalyptic world would entrust us with their salvation."

Shadow gave an honest to goodness smile, a glimmer of hope and all that is good. "Because we believe in you." Fire and Blaze for once let their hope shine through their brilliant eyes. Something could, and would be done.

"Gold!"

The boy was caught off guard when a bluenette leapt onto him. Clinging tightly, her arms gripped his torso, slowly squeezing the air out of him. Gold managed to 'hug' her back with a cringeworthy smile. "Hey, Kris," he choked.

"Where's Lyra?" A boy, Silver, asked in honest concern as he came running from the polar direction Crystal had come. "She okay?"

Gold nodded, "Pretty sure she's fine." He looked around the streets of Ekruteak City and noticed Giovanni and Blue also headed their way. Chu Chu hopped excitedly behind him, ready to greet the friends. "I'm not quite sure where she went, though. I'm supposed to be heading to the Whirl Islands."

"Stocking up, I see?" Crystal nudged the boy's shoulder, winking flirtatiously.

Gold sighed. "Caught me red-handed..."

Silver scoffed, "So no idea where Lyra is?"

"I'd suppose the Tin Tower right here in Ekruteak." Giovanni fashioned a trench coat and fancy sunglasses to hide his identity from police forces.

Blue's face grew thoughtful, eyeing the man in curiosity. "Why do you suppose that?"

"That is where the Guardian of the skies rests. Seeing the guardian is said to bring eternal happiness. If something is bound to happen, she should be able to awaken it, easily gaining trust and also using the power to stop any opposition." He placed a stern finger on his chin. "If Gold and Lyra are to obtain these forces through reasoning, it's obvious something is askew here..."

Blue nodded, turning to Crystal. "And where have you been?"

"Having my own little adventure," the bluenette pursed her lips, "more than what you can say." Blue rolled her eyes.

Gold removed a Pokeball from his belt, sending out a Noctowl, a common Pokemon in Johto. "Well I'll see you guys soon, I guess," he stated with a goofy grin. "Noctowl, to the Whirl Islands!" The large bird flapped its wings with great might, it's strong feet clasping Gold's arms and quickly lifting him away.

Crystal cursed under her breath. "That sly dog, I'll get you."

Blue's attention turned to the empty slot besides the group. Silver had vanished. "Where's Silver?"

Lyra stood atop the tower, rainbow wing in hand. She shivered at the thought of summoning such a winged beast. Lyra never considered herself much of a competitive battler, her skills lacking much experience needed to take on a mighty force. Sighing, her delicate fingers pet the small feather. It was time.

"Ho-oh," her shaky voice shouted to the rainbow heavens above the setting sun. No answer had signaled. "I've come for help!"

The tin tower stood silently, the small gusts of air blowing through its halls like a whistle. Atop, the brunette waited for any response. None had come.

The girl gulped, reaching into a pocket of her denim overalls. She clutched a small bell, breaths deepening. A challenge awaited. She stalled.

Alone with her thoughts, she brushed away a few fearful tears into her red sleeve.

Professor Elm scurried through his lab, working as usual, when the front door opened in the other room. Shrugging it off, the man thought one of his assistants wandered back for varying reasons. He continued inspecting some eggs before retiring them to their rightful incubators.

"Elm!"

The professor, caught off guard, dropped the egg, barely catching it with soft hands. Furious, he growled until he noticed his famous friend standing in the doorway of the nursery. Professor Elm stated, "You should never interrupt a man at work, Oak. You should know that better than anyone!"

The old man chuckled, joining Professor Elm at the inspection counter resting in the center of the laboratory. "Why yes, I suppose I should." He lightly took the egg from Elm and returned the egg to the only empty incubator.

"So what brings you here?" Elm scrunched his nose, a knowledgable finger pushing his glasses back up the rim.

"I was wondering if you've seen my children."

Elm chuckled. "You have those?" he joked.

Oak smiled warmly. "Not exactly, but I was referring to my Pokedexes, and their holders. The ones from Pallet normally fill me in on any information..."

Professor Elm shrank. "Actually, I'm not sure..."
