*Red's POV*

The blue monster hopped beside it's trained. Lyra looked deeply into my eyes and I knew I would be in for a life changing conversation. She twirled her pigtails with her fingers, revealing her stress.

"I-" she stopped talking and averted her eyes. She looked down at her Marill. "I have these reoccurring feelings for you. I wish they would go away, but I'm very fond of them..."

I let my hand reach out to her face, directing it back to mine. Her chestnut eyes dazzled. Her mouth curled upward.

"Red," she leaned closer to me, "I think I love you. But you belong to Leaf and I understand that."

I shook my head. "We were never officially a thing," I explained, clearing my shaky throat, "and she thinks it's better for me to be with you."

Lyra's face saddened. What I said was wrong, I know, but it was true. This was really a dilemma.

I cupped my hands around her cheek, her ready eyes dazzling in shock. I really wanted this. She did, too. I pulled her face close to mine, breathing softly before going in for a kiss.

"What the hell?"

Lyra pulled herself back and panicked as Silver rushed out of the room in a furious rage. Silver shoved me away from the girl with the pigtails and tossed me to the wall. In self defense, I threw him back.

He breathed heavily, almost letting hot fire burst from his mouth as he yelled, "Lyra doesn't belong with a creep like you, so back off!"

Silver yanked me from the wall to commence a fight. I didn't want things to resort to this so I attempted to not retaliate. Silver tried to punch me square in the chest several times, but I continued to move in such a way that he only hit my arms. As much as it hurt, it was better than getting into trouble. Or so I thought.

Silver quickly gave up, blinking back his tears as his breaths tried to lighten their load. He coughed, "It's pointless if you don't fight back, so why the hell don't you?" He fired another punch, among for my face. I shut my eyes and pulled my arm up to block it aimlessly.

"Gah!"

I opened my eyes, searching for the person who groaned loudly. Then I found the source; Lyra lay on the ground in agony, holding her beaten face in painful tears. Silver backed away in shock. I stood there unsure of what to do.

"Well, well, well..."

"Chu!"

Silver I looked down the hall as the figure approached us with a familiar Pikachu. His dark attire was very formal and I instantly recognized the fedora resting on the man's head. His brown hair, slicked back, could only mean one thing: Bad News.

"...I come here to stay a night and I walk in to see my kids in the middle of a brawl..."

"Dad?" Silver shrieked, fearful. I found myself paralyzed. Who would have guessed he of all people could be one of my lost relatives.

Giovanni chuckled. "That's me!"

"Chu!" ChuChu hopped off the ex-Rocket gang leader's shoulder and nuzzled my foot.

"And you, Red," Giovanni turned to me, "how have you been handling things?"

"If you're expecting me to call you 'Dad', don't expect me to..." I could feel a hint of sass in my words.

"Nah, boy," Giovanni shook his head, "I wouldn't expect someone like you to even acknowledge me as a father."

"He's..." Silver trailed off. He looked to me with wide eyes. His expression revealed his anxiety.
