Chapter Twenty: Change.
-Sam-
Everything was changing. My surroundings have changed. Going from Niall's expensive flat to a cottage just my size down the street from Eleanor and Louis. Niall and I didn't work out. Shocker. Our relationship was built from desperate times and mixed feelings. Stuff like that doesn't last. I will always love Niall, but I will never be in love with Niall. For the longest time I got being in love, and loving someone was the same thing. Now I know. But everything was really changing. I was changing. I'm getting older, Ill be 23 by the end of the summer. I had to grow up so fast, but now I realize that all I've ever wanted to do with my life was model. I always loved things that made me feel beautiful. Maybe that's why I loved Harry so much. He made me feel so beautiful.
Harry was changing too. He was laughing a lot more and smiling a whole lot too. He was calm again like he use to be. He was getting older too. His life didn't revolve around his band and his fans anymore. It revolved around Darcy. Everything he did was for her. But the fans understood, cause they were older now too.
The hardest thing was watching Darcy change. She grows everyday right in front of my eyes. Her blonde hair hand now darkened to a sand colored brown. Her hair was an uncontrolled curly that took my forever to do every morning. Her pale green eyes were emerald like her fathers. She was Harry. She had his dimples and pink lips. His terrible sense of humor, they laugh at the same dumb jokes I will never get. But their best friends. They watch Celebrity Apprentice together every Monday night at 6. He takes her to school twice a week, and on the weekends they go swimming in the lake behind our house. They do almost everything together.
Now that Darcy is older shes starting to ask questions. Questions about Harry and I. Why Harry doesn't live with us, why we don't kiss and hold hands like her friends parents. It's hard to explain to her that we aren't like the other parents. I remember one day she asked my if I loved Harry. And I told her I did. Then she asked if Harry loved me. And I told her yes. She asked why we didn't act like we loved each other. And I simply told her that we loved each other too much. She never understood and I don't either.
Harry and I are friends you can say. He tells me he loves me everyday, and I tell him the same. Sometimes when Darcy goes to sleep we stay up late talking, or watch movies. But nothing's happened. He's dealing a lot with the divorce. It's on every magazine cover. He gets bashed daily for it. Getting called awful names that were the total opposite of him. And I knew he was having a hard time, and I tell him I'm here for him. And I hope he knows that when he's ready to love me right this time, I am ready. Like always, I am waiting on Harry.
But now it's Darcy's 5th birthday party. Family from everywhere has come to see her turn 5. My mum and Kroy came, my grandmother and grandfather, some of my cousins and aunts and uncles flew over. All of Harry's family was here. Some of which I met for the first time but heard so much about. Niall's family came, Greg, Bobby and Maura. Liam's sisters came, Nicola and Ruth. Liam brought along Andy and Maz who fit right in with the kids. Louis brought all his sisters, Daisy, Phoebe, Lottie and Fiz. Zayn actually showed up. Perrie on his right hand and his sisters followed. Doniya, Safaa, and Waliyah. They all looked alike I had trouble telling them apart. I sat back in my chair, my eyes grazing over all these people in this too expensive venue for a five year old. But Harry insisted. Darcy and her friends were playing just dance with Louis and they danced to what makes you beautiful and Niall laughed cause he thought it was priceless. The pink and cheetah print looked stunning thanks too Danielle and Eleanor.
'You don't look happy,' Harry said pulling up a chair next to me.
'I am so happy,' I said.
'She's five years old,' he said.
