Mef sat in his trailer on set, going over his lines. His phone started to ring, it was Tia but he declined it. He had tunnel vision while he was working and he refused to let anything distract him. His phone rung again but this time it was Reggie. He picked up, "Sup?"
"Yo Mef get down here," Reggie's urgent voice filled the line. "It's Jaida. She's in the hospital," he paused not wanting to reveal this piece of information but knowing he had to, "She's pregnant son."
Without another word, Mef hung up the call , gathered his things and damn near flew out the trailer, on a mission to catch the next available flight home.

Next DayMef charged into the waiting room, out of breath, seeing Tia and Reggie. "Where she at? The fuck happened?" He approached.
Reggie spoke, "She passed out in the street, got hit by a car. Doctor said she was dehydrated and the fact that she's pregnant..."
Mef cut him off, crossing his arms tightly, "How long yall knew?"
Tia hesitated not wanting to get caught in Mef's wrath that she could tell was building up, "I just found out yesterday."
Mef turned to look at Reggie. "I found out last week the same time Jaida did." Reggie said.
Mef groaned in agony at the news, "cmon my nigga! Why you ain't tell me?"
Reggie raised his voice in defense, "She told me she was gonna tell you after I convinced her not to abort it."
Mef rubbed his hands across his face feeling overwhelmed, "Where she at? I gotta see her."
"I'll take you," Tia said as she led the way.
Mef burst through the door, his heart pounding as he took in the sight of Jaida lying unconscious. He was speechless at the sight.
He cautiously walked up to her. "Baby," he said softly, running his hand through her hair. He felt a lump in his throat, he hated this for her. "Jaida wake up," his voice cracked.
Tears welled up in Tia's eyes as she watched him by Jaida's bedside. All this time he's been blowing up Tia's phone asking about Jaida and her well being and he had to now see her like this. She closed the door behind her, wanting to give him privacy.
Mef gently brushed Jaida's hair away from her face, his fingers trembling. Despite her being plugged up and the minor scratches on her face, she looked as beautiful as ever to him. He gently rubbed her flat stomach. Pregnant he said to himself and chuckled at the thought of her carrying his child. His small smile faded as he thought her even contemplating on aborting it.
Just then, a female doctor came in holding her clipboard, "Hello, you must be Mr. Smith. I am Doctor Reeves, Ms. Copeland and Mr. Noble said you'd be coming. You are the father of the baby, correct?"
Mef stood up, shook hands with the doctor, "Yes I am. Doc, can you tell me what's going on?"
"Well it looks like Ms. Steele collapsed in the street due to dehydration. Pregnant women need an increased amount of fluids to support the growing baby. If a woman becomes dehydrated, it can lead to a decrease in blood volume and low blood pressure, which is what led to this." He listened with his hand on his chin as the doctor continued, "her body also collided into a car, nothing major but she did hit her head due to the fall, so she is unconscious from a minor concussion. It's minor so her unconsciousness can last for hours, or a day or two. It just all depends. But she and the baby are fine."
