Tamika: u really a dumbass. This bitch really dedicated a whole chapter to you in her book. Like y'all was in love or some shit. But you claim it was nothing.
Mef: it was nothing! smh. And you really believe that shit? That bitch is delusional.
Tamika: I thought I was over this. But thanks for opening up the wound to break my heart again.
Mef: Tamika I'm sorry. If I could take it back I would. Please don't let something that happened years ago set us back.
Tamika: kiss my ass Cliff. It should've never happened!
He let out a heavy sigh as he faintly tuned in to Tia's rambling while tapping away a text message to Tamika. The current state of their relationship weighed heavily on him, and the release of the book only added fuel to the fire. He honestly felt like shit.
"You tryna do what now?" Mef asked Tia with squinted eyes.
Tia hesitated before speaking, her voice soft. "I have to write this article. We're in competition with the other blogs and radio and my boss is on my ass. I promise I won't say anything that's not already out there." Tia quickly reassured him, her expression pleading for his agreement.
Shaking his head wearily, he spoke firmly. "Keep it clean Tia."
Though her blog company had covered him before, the fact of Tia being involved with this specific topic didn't sit right with him. Tia thought it'd be better if she wrote about him because she can control the narrative and get props from her boss but he still wasn't feeling it. "I will. I promise. Thank you Cliff." She said in a hopeful tone.
He shrugged as the stress was evident on his face. "Do what you gotta do,"
Tia's demeanor softened, "Mef I'm sorry. Trust me I don't wanna do this either."
Standing up, he let out another sigh, approaching Tia and embracing her warmly. She hesitated before returning the hug. There was something different about this embrace, she could tell he was hurting on the inside. "It's gonna be okay Cliff. You know we love you, we got you."
They released from the hug. "Ima be igh." He said.
"Love you," Tia said, her face filled with sorrow. "Love you too." He replied, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving her house.

"So Mef, as you know. Superhead came out the gate swinging with her second book. She decided to officially name you. How do you feel about that?" The female radio host asked.
Mef nonchalantly shrugged in response, his expression unreadable. "I can't feel a way about something that isn't true," he stated firmly, leaning closer to the microphone, "and ima keep it at that."
