"Bitch I can't believe you got floor seats to the basketball game." Tia exclaimed, as she watched the ball players run up and down the court.

Tia still couldn't believe Jaida was acquainted with the talented, sexy basketball player. The atmosphere in Madison Square Garden was live and loud.

"Thank you for coming last minute since Mef bailed on me," she sighed in disappointment.
"Girl you can invite me anytime!" Tia said eyeing the players flirtatiously on the court, undressing them with her eyes.

Jaida subtly rolled her eyes as she sat there with a mind full of thoughts. Tia looked over at her friend and softened her demeanor, "he still hasn't reached out to you?"

Jaida bit her lip and shook her head no. She hasn't seen Mef since yesterday morning. She heard him come home last night when she was sleeping but he was on the go before she could even wake up this morning. She expected to see him so they can go to the game today but he texted her saying something came up and that he'd catch up with her later and that's the last she's heard from him.

The 76ers won, slapping high fives to the fans, before running off to their locker room. Minutes later Jaida received a text from Allen, 'meet me at the at the party?' "Umm yes!" Tia said in a suggestive and pressuring tone, peeking over, looking at Jaida's text message. Jaida whipped her head at her friend, scrunching up her face for being in her business. "Jaida come on. I need to meet my future husband!" Tia seriously joked. "Bitch you are taken!" Jaida shot back. "Taken. Not married!" Let's go" she said, playfully shoving her to the exit of the arena.

Two hours later, Jaida was sitting on the sofa, glued to her phone, for a text or call from Mef that never came. She bit her lip, wondering where her could be. She huffed looking around her everybody being rowdy, dancing and drinking. Tia was somewhere in the house party networking and finding her a new prospect husband.

"Here you go," Allen grinned, taking a seat next to her on the couch.

Even after all that hard work he did on the court, she couldn't believe he still had energy to entertain everybody.

"What?" She asked flatly, still looking at her phone.

He sucked his teeth, "you too uptight munchkin. This the second time I invited you to a get together and you ducked off in a corner somewhere on ya phone." He remarked.

Rolling her eyes, she finally tore her gaze away from the screen. "First of all this isn't a get together. Your 'get togethers' are full blown party, drunk fests. Second, I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for Tia's ass. My man wouldn't even want me in scenes like this," she said with attitude. "Speaking of him...where is your man? I'm starting to think he doesn't exist. I mean yeah we all know who he is but is he really with you..." He said half jokingly. She remained silent, and the doubt crept in. Shit it did seem that way. She spoke of him often and he was even supposed to come to the game tonight but yet here she was without him. He read her face and her body language, he could tell she was bothered.

He gave a soft nudge to arm, looking over at her. "It's cool. You ain't gotta discuss it." He assured her. Her silence was a response and even though he wanted to change the subject, he wanted to give her some advice as he watched Jaida check her phone once more. She bit her lip as her eyes began to get glossy. His face dropped and his eyes widened a little. In a swift move, he got up, took her hand, and led her outside, away from the party. Sensing she was close to tears, he wanted to shield her from the chaos. She felt a wave of relief wash over her; she couldn't hold back her emotions any longer and she would've felt silly crying in the middle of a party.
