As I was about to chase after Vini, Aunt Nina suddenly appeared in my way, asking for a favor. She said she had been busy with the other details of the party, she forgot about the giveaways. However, I was very willing to help of course! Matatanggihan ko ba naman ang future mother-in-law ko? Of course not! And now more than ever, I needed to step up the game.

“Is that my son’s shirt?” pagpansin niya roon sa suot ko.

Pouting my lips, I nodded my head, “I do not know what’s with Vini, Tita! It’s a pool party yet he won’t let me wear bikini. Ano daw po ‘yon? I ordered this one overseas pa naman! Tita, this is The Attico’s!” sumbong ko.

She chuckled. “Dal, you already know that my son can be a little overprotective when it comes to girls in his life, right?” she said that had me sighing deeply.

I knew about that. But still! At ano ba talaga ang nangyari sa isang ‘yon/ Bigla-bigla na lamang na nagwo-walkout! Parang dutdot lang sa abs niya!

Napakadamot!

Habang iniisa-isa naming lagyan ng laman ‘yong loot bags ay nagkuwentuhan kaming dalawa. I told her about school stuff and also shared to her about Ellis being my new found friend.

“Oh, that explains why Vini is always so grumpy,” she chuckled.

“Ellis is a good guy, Tita, and did you know? He has been bullied in his former school. He is so kawawa naman,” kuwento ko. “And he is also good at Chess. Vini and him will surely get along if only he will give him a chance.”

She nodded her head at my stories. “Anyway, while I was cleaning Davina’s room yesterday, I saw her slambook under her pillows. I swear I didn’t mean to look into it. I just got curious,” aniya na nagpabaga bigla sa mga pisngi ko dahil kung anu-ano pa naman ang pinagsususulat ko roon.

“You mean, nabasa po ninyo ‘yong sa akin? OMG, Tita! Sobrang nakakahiya!” sabi ko sabay takip sa mukha ko at halos ilusot na nga ‘yong loot bag sa ulo ko sa labis na kahihiyan noong tumango siya.

“Time flies so fast, isn’t it? Parang kahapon lang noong mga bata pa kayo ni Vini. I remembered being summoned to the principal’s office because he was apparently involved in a scandal. Imagine your Tito Davin and my reaction noong hinalikan mo raw sa labi ang anak namin sa harapan ng mga kaklase ninyo. At the age of nine!” natatawang kuwento niya.

I could not help but chuckle as the memory resurfaced. I still wondered until now where I mustered the courage to do that. Awang-awa nga ako kay Dee-dee dahil siya pa tuloy ‘yong nasisi ni Mumeee. I remembered her words vividly. She warned him that if I ever turned into a playgirl like him who had a reputation for being a playboy in the past, she wouldn’t hesitate to consider divorce.

But Mumeee should not worry about that.

I was a loyal girl kaya!
