How are you guys? In this chapter I'm going to be talking about honey and it's benefits, not just health wise, but also beauty wise.
What you can do with it:
1. Treat dandruff; mix honey and dilute it with a little bit of water and apply it to itchy/scaling areas
2. Moisturizing mask; spread a teaspoon of (raw) honey on clean, dry skin and wash after 15 minutes
3. Pore cleanser; mix a tablespoon of raw honey with two tablespoons of jojoba or coconut oil and apply to clean, dry skin
4. Acne treatment; apply a 1/2 a teaspoon of raw honey to inflamed or red areas, and wash off after 10-15 minutes
5. Natural hair highlighter; mix 3 tablespoons of honey with 2 tablespoons of water, apply to clean and damp hair, and let sit for an hour before rinsing.
Why it works:
Honey is loaded with natural antibacterials and antifungals. It is also a natural inflammatory, which really helps flush skin of redness or blemishes. It is a humectant, which means that it draws moisture from the air into your skin. This protects skin and hydrates it, which is how the moisturizing mask works. If you use raw honey, the enzymes in it clear out pores quickly, which keeps you blemish free. If you are making the hair highlighter, the glucose oxidase in honey eventually releases natural hydrogen peroxide, which lightens hair.
I use honey in almost all of my natural skin care items, and it really works. But please, don't expect any of these to work if you only use them once. Continued use will make a HUGE difference, but don't just give up after one time.
