The Rookie - Station 19

Yn's pov:

I walk into the firehouse and look around. I have no idea where I'm supposed to go. A blond woman walks in, "oh. You must be Yn. I'm the Captain. I may have forgotten to tell the crew we're getting a rookie." She says embarrassed. "It's fine.." I reply, we both walk into the main room. "19!" The girl yells. "There's a new rookie! Her name is yn! Let's treat her with respect!" I am nervous, but I'm trying to hide it. "Welcome to 19 Yn!" Everyone yells. "Thank you!" I say. We all go into the kitchen. "So how about everyone introduces themselves. You can say a fact about yourself if you want. I'll start. I'm Maya Bishop and I have a very hot Italian girlfriend." Maya says. "Andy Herrara. Used to be married to this lune." She glances at this guy who is super buff. "Robert Sullivan. Used to be in the Military" "Travis Montgomery. One of the best firehouse cooks I know. " "Dean Miller. I have a little baby girl waiting for me at home." "Ben Warren. I was a surgeon and an anesthesiologist before I became a firefighter. And my wife is chief of surgery at Grey Sloan." "Victoria Hughes. But just call me Vic. And I talk a lot. I'm also really nosy" "Is that everyone?" Maya asks. "Why don't you go yn?" "Yn Strand.. My dad and brother are both firefighters in Texas.." I say. "It's nice to meet all of you. I can't wait to work with-" The fire alarm rings. "Well you don't have to wait" Travis says, running.

My first day was fun. Only a few small fires and a cat stuck in a tree. I still felt out of place a little, since I'd been in Texas for a while. But I figured after a while it would go away.
