Chapter 10 – A Sweet Date Part 1

If Zu Jin was drinking water right now, then she wouldn’t be able to stop herself from spitting it out.

She was apprehensive of Ji Shiyu’s personality that was like wishing the world would be chaotic1. She must not be told about her relationship with Yan Lin.

When Zu Jin made her leave and got into the car, she immediately comforted Yan Lin.

“I’m sorry, I wronged you just now.”

Yan Lin was holding the steering wheel and looking straight ahead. He heard her and smiled. He said, “Have you realized that after we met, we basically say sorry to each other every day?”

Zu Jin thought about it and it really was like that. “Maybe if we knew each other longer, then it won’t be like this.”

But Yan Lin said, “Yes, but this feeling of treating each other as honored guests is not bad. What do you think?”

Zu Jin could tell that he was deliberately teasing her about how she spoke without thinking!

She secretly bit her lower lip in shame and did not continue talking.

Yan Lin looked at how she was blushing and her ears were red from the rearview mirror. He smiled and stopped joking.

“It will take us more than an hour to drive to the western suburbs. You can take a nap first if you are tired.”

Zu Jin didn’t even think about it, and immediately replied, “I’m not tired.”

She was afraid that after she fell asleep, she would not be able to manage her facial expressions and she would show an ugly look.

But people who travel a lot are accustomed to getting into the car, sleeping, then getting out to go to work.

In addition, she and Yan Lin had nothing to talk to, so she couldn’t stop herself from falling asleep after a while.

When she woke up, they were just about to reach their destination.

After getting out of the car, Zu Jin realized Yan Lin had brought her to a restaurant that was similar to a bed-and-breakfast.

There were lakes to go fishing at, vegetables growing in the fields, private cinemas, and KTV. They could even choose to cook their own meals.

Although it sounded like an ordinary place to eat, drink, and play, the scenery here was beautiful. The restaurant interior was very approachable, and it made people feel like it was very familiar when they came in.

However, the owner was used to being idle because he only received one group of guests a week.

Therefore, they were the only people using this restaurant.

After they listened to the owner’s introduction, Zu Jin expressed her satisfaction for the place.

Soon, however, her thoughts began to wander.

She looked at Yan Lin, who was standing close by with his hands behind his back. Then, she looked back at the flowers and plants raised by the owner. She suddenly had some shameful thoughts coming from her mind.

The western suburbs are not too far from the city, but it still took us a while to arrive this afternoon. There’s an 80% chance that we will probably be staying the night.

Are we going to stay together tonight…

Also, the owner kept saying that the guests have had a great time cooking for themselves and eating here.

Her mind went numb when she thought that, because she was a really bad cook!

She could handle the food that she cooked for herself, but whether Yan Lin could eat it was questionable.

And currently, she did not intend to expose this side of herself.

For people who had just fallen in love, why would they want to show all their shortcomings when their relationship had just begun?

It would take at least a few months for the relationship to progress before farting without anyone’s expressions changing, right?

Hmph! Hmph!

After the owner finished introducing the restaurant, he quickly left to give them plenty of time to be in their own romantic world.

Yan Lin seemed to be really interested in the place compared to Zu Jin’s uneasiness.

He went to the sliding glass door refrigerator in the corner and took out two bottles of mineral water. After that, he handed one to her.

“This is my first time in a place like this. How about you? Do you like it here?”

Zu Jin nodded. “Yes, should we go on a walk at the lake behind us?”

“Okay.”

The lake looked man-made, so it was not big. Close by were two green hills surrounded by mist.

There was a glass bridge in front of the lake. It was late autumn, so when they walked up and looked around, the lake was clear and several red carps were swimming around. It was particularly pleasant.

Neither of them spoke, but walked quietly side by side and watched the surrounding scenery.

Zu Jin gradually calmed down and stopped thinking about those messy thoughts.

They walked around the lake for a while, and then sat down in a small pavilion next to the lake.

“Do you have scheduled dates when you’re not working every month? I called you this morning when I saw that it was the weekend. But, I regretted it very quickly because I was afraid of disturbing your work.”

They were sitting next to each other. Zu Jin turned to look at his handsome face and listened to his deep and gentle voice. She felt that her little heart was going to soften into a pool of water.

“I don’t. Usually, I can only take a break after I finish my work. But, as long as I have time off in the future, I will tell you and I will never forget to tell you again.”

Yan Lin seemed satisfied with what she said and nodded his head for a while with a faint smile.

Yet, the more Zu Jin saw his gentle and honest appearance, she somehow had a very dark impulse to bully him…

“Would I be considered your first love?” she suddenly asked with a serious look on her face.

“Huh?”
