Chapter 12 – Ji Shiyu Part 2

Zu Jin was completely awake now. After she changed her clothes, she didn’t even wash her face when she went straight to Ji Shiyu’s room.

After knocking a few times, Ji Shiyu opened the door.

Seeing her here, Ji Shiyu guiltily did not dare to look directly into her eyes as she usually did. She pretended to be busy fixing the mask on her face, and then asked, “Look at you, are you on a warpath?”

Zu Jin pushed her away and went in, then closed the door behind her.

She walked around the room irritably to hold down her anger before reprimanding her. “Look at what you’ve done. If Liu Bing didn’t tell me, I wouldn’t have known you had the nerve to do it!”

Ji Shiyu rolled her eyes, went to the vanity and sat down.

“What are you talking so loudly for? If they don’t agree, then they don’t agree. What’s the big deal?”

“You!” Zu Jin was simply speechless.

She took a deep breath. “Did you know that there is actually a spy from the board of directors in the factory? If Liu Bing did not suppress this matter, then the factory would have taken advantage of the situation to bring a lawsuit to the board of directors. Then, they would have seized this chance to drag your father down from being the chairman, and you’ll probably face legal action, or you’ll be sent to jail!”

Ji Shiyu took off the mask and turned around angrily. “Who are you cursing at? If my dad was dragged down so easily, then how did he keep you as president for all of these years? You’re just worried about yourself being implicated. Don’t worry! I’ll clear it up for you if something happens, and I absolutely won’t let those people get anything on you!”

Zu Jin was so angry when she told Ji Shiyu about the seriousness of the matter, but she still didn’t know how to repent.

She looked at the figure of Ji Shiyu sitting and leisurely putting on her make-up, and shook her head. She turned and left.

After Zu Jin returned to her room, she immediately called Ji Desheng. After she quickly told him the issue she hoped that Ji Desheng could persuade his daughter to withdraw her people.

After all, she would not listen to her.

It was dawn outside before she knew it. Zu Jin washed her unhappy face, then put on makeup and left the hotel to go to the factory for a meeting.

After a meeting with the person in charge of the factory all morning, Zu Jin didn’t even eat lunch when she took the car to rush back to A City.

This was because Qiyu Corporation had a small product launch today and she had to be there.

But before she left, she made Xia Tong stay behind. Zu Jin could feel rest assured with Xia Tong helping her keep an eye on Ji Shiyu.

When she got back to A city and finished the press conference, it was night again in the blink of an eye.

Zu Jin was extremely famished after not eating much all day. After seeing the last few guests off, she had planned to catch her breath before going to Ji Desheng’s home to report to him.

Unexpectedly, Ji Desheng had come here instead. He had been waiting for her outside for more than half an hour.

Zu Jin took the elevator to the top floor and walked into the conference room when she saw Ji Desheng’s figure standing in front of the window with his hands in his pockets.

“Chairman Ji?”

Ji Desheng spoke harshly, “Are you done?”

Zu Jin heard his cold voice and her heart sank. However, she still went over there.

“We’re done. Did Ji Shiyu call you? Did she withdraw her people?”

Ji Desheng took a breath and turned his head. His complexion was terrible.

“Why did you come back without her? This conference can’t be held without you, can it?!”

Zu Jin was shocked, and the habitual smile appeared on her face in the next second.

“She didn’t listen to me when I was there. Chairman Ji, you are not blaming me for not taking good care of Shiyu, are you?”

As the saying goes, “You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.”1

Even though Ji Desheng was dissatisfied, he could not be too hard on her because of this issue.

He turned and walked a few steps, and his complexion finally improved a little. “No, you can choose to come back. That is correct.”

Zu Jin lowered her eyes and smiled. She did not speak again.

“Shiyu doesn’t understand how it’s important to handle work well. If you did not stop her this time, she would have gotten herself into big trouble. Just now I…I was worried for a moment. But with you there, I don’t have to worry about her anymore.”

Zu Jin went along with it and nodded, but she suddenly did not have a smile on her face.

“As the Qiyu’s President, I am responsible for the overall interests of Qiyu. This is what you, Chairman Ji, have taught me since the beginning. Since you said that I did nothing wrong, then I am relieved.”

Ji Desheng suddenly looked up at her and his eyes became sharp. But in the next second, the old fox returned to a cheerful appearance.

At this time, everyone working at Qiyu’s building had basically left.

Zu Jin’s expression became cold as soon as she walked out of the meeting room.

She pressed the elevator button and went to the underground parking lot. After getting in the car and contemplating for a while, she took out her cell phone and called Xia Tong.

After Xia Tong connected, her voice was still a little weak. “Jin Jie?”

“Mhm, are you feeling better? How’s it going with Ji Shiyu? It’s been a whole afternoon, and you haven’t called me to report anything?”

Xia Tong replied at once, “After you left at noon, the people on Ji Shiyu’s side quickly withdrew, but she seems to be still angry with you. She will probably find you when she gets back…”

Zu Jin lowered her head and rubbed her temple.  “Okay. It’s been hard for you these past few days. Since Ji Shiyu’s matter is fine now, you can come back by yourself and come to work after you feel better.”

“Thank you, Jin Jie.”

After hanging up the phone, she let out an irritated sigh.

Compared to dealing with hectic official business while racing against time, what annoyed her the most was the way the world worked that she couldn’t escape from.

Ji Desheng was a smart and capable person in her mind a few years ago. However, he was old now and more and more like an old fool who would spoil his daughter and could hardly distinguish between black and white.

She felt that Ji Desheng would one day stumble and fall because of Ji Shiyu.

And she definitely would not not be spared.
