Chapter 21 – Good News

At the end of the day, Yan Lin called to pick her up.

They still did not have a ring since they got married. So as they were waiting to meet some friends for dinner, they went to pick up their custom-made rings on the way.

Their rings did not have a flashy design, nor did it have any inlaid diamonds.

They were just very simple platinum rings, but Yan Lin asked the worker to engrave their initials on the inside of the ring.

Zu Jin did not typically wear accessories. Sometimes in the morning when she had time, she would wear an earring or necklace, but something like a watch bracelet was cumbersome to her.

Now that she was wearing the ring, she felt that it was just right, like finding the missing ring that was supposed to be on her finger.

“Hmm, not bad,” she praised as she looked at her long fingers. ↤↤↤↤↤ Please read at foxaholic.com ↦↦↦↦↦

However, it might be that she usually had an indifferent expression that the jewelry store owner and the ring designer were unexpectedly nervous.

Yan Lin knew her personality, so he smiled at the two men opposite of them.

“There is no need to modify it. Thank you, we like it a lot.”

After finishing up with the rings and getting in the car, Yan Lin did not move to start the car.

“Heng Li, Chai Jun, and several members of your board of directors have poached a person from the South Jiafu Group. They should be ready to start acting against you, and Ji Desheng has recently begun the immigration process, so you should be mentally prepared.”

Yan Lin and Qiyu Corporation had an investment project together, which had begun to enter the development stage.

So Zu Jin was not surprised that he knew these top-level Qiyu issues like the back of his hand.

“They poached him to take my place. I heard it from my friend last night.”

As for Ji Desheng…

He was going to emigrate, which meant that he was going to quit the board of directors and leave this dispute.

It was, after all, Ji Shiyu who did these things that forced him to fall. He was also old, so he had no intention to continue fighting. This was to be expected.

He saw that she only said a few words and did not keep talking.

Yan Lin had to continue, “If Ji Desheng really leaves, then it will be easy for the board of directors to remove you from office. What are your next plans?”

Zu Jin gave him a blank smile.

“I naturally want to stay there. I ask myself whether I have made less contributions to the development of Qiyu than others over the years, but no matter how hard I have tried, there is still no room for me because of the board of directors’ rights and interests.”

Yan Lin took her hand and squeezed it. “You still put too much focus on feelings. When Ji Desheng pushed you into office, you should have taken advantage of the opportunity to fight for more shares, otherwise you wouldn’t be as passive as you are now.”

“I didn’t speak out.”

Zu Jin turned to look at him and mocked herself, “He was like a father who inspired and helped me back then. If someone tried to manipulate me, he would be angrier than me once he knew, especially during the year I took office. That year happened to be my 30th birthday. My mother didn’t even remember, but he called me and said that he had ordered a birthday cake for me. He asked me to go to his house for my birthday. So regarding the matter about fighting for shares…”
