*ROBERT (LAUREL'S DAD) IN THE MEDIA*
Help Each Other
Laurel's POV
"LAUREL GET IN HERE NOW!!" my mother screams.
I jump at the sound of her angry voice, hurrying out bed I don't put on any shoes or a robe.
"Yes, yes? What's wrong?" I plead nervously.
"WHY IS THIS KITCHEN SO FILTHY?!" my mother yells.
I look frantically at the kitchen. The counter and stove are wiped, the floor is swept, but there is a dirty plate, fork, and cup in the sink.
"The dishes? I can wash them."
I try to hurry over to the sink but she grabs my hair and yanks me back. I yelp in pain.
"DON'T TRY TO DO IT NOW!! YOU SHOULD HAVE DID IT EARLIER." my mother snaps.
"I'm sorry." I cry breathlessly.
"YOUR DAMN RIGHT YOUR SORRY!! CLEAN THIS SHIT UP NOW!!" my mom commands, throwing me back towards the sink.
I hit my head on the microwave that sticks out above the sink and black spots cloud my vision.
"NOW!!" she yells again.
I must move in the wrong direction because she snatches me and shoves me into the sink, the edge of the counter digging into my stomach. I double over in pain and she slaps me. I fall to my knees, one hand to my stomach, one hand to the cold white tile. My breath is starting to come back when its taken away again. My mother's foot forces the air from my lungs. An ear curling scream erupts from my lips.
