*OLIVIA IN THE MEDIA*
The Beauty of Older Women
Laurel's POV
My day went by in somewhat of a quick fashion. As usual I walked into Mr. Masterson's class 20 minutes before the bell was suppose to ring, but ended up having time to get the notes. At lunch, I tell my friends I'm leaving. Everyone seemed really sad. Which is kind of surprising because we haven't been hanging out as much since I met Melony at my birthday party. They all wished me luck back in Louisiana and that was that.
Now as me and Melony are sitting at one of the outside table of Starbucks under a green umbrella, my mind is obssessing over tonight with Julia.
"So, how did it go?" Melony asks me, sipping from her Caramel Mocha.
"How did what go?" I inquire, totally oblivious to whatever it is she's talking about.
"Telling Julia. What else would I be talking about?" she chuckles.
"Oh," I nod in realization "Well, it started off bad. There was a lot of yelling and tears..."
Melony's face scrunches up, showing her pity and slight annoyance.
"But it all smoothed out towards the end." I say, unable to keep the smile from crawling onto my face.
"Oh did it?" Melony asks, smiling knowingly.
"It did." I grin, licking the whip cream from the end of my coffee's straw.
"I'm assuming you two made plans then."
"We did. Tonight actually. If you don't mind."
"Why would I mind?"
"You know, because we suppose to be spending my last few days together."
"I expected you to at least spend one night with Julia, which is why I made plans too."
"Oh, did you now?" I ask, eyeing Melony suspiciously.
"Um hmm." Melony mumbles, her mouth full of a bite of the new cookie Starbucks was promoting.
"With who, if you don't mind me asking."
"A friend." she shrugs.
"What kind of frriend?"
"Just a friend." she says, fighting to hide her smile.
"A special friend?" I probe.
"Maybe."
"Do I know him?" I ask curiously.
"No, I don't think you know her." Melony says, drawing no attention to how she changed the gender of the pronoun of this mysterious friend she's just now mentioning.
"Her..."
"Yep."
At lost for words, I put my straw into my mouth and take a long pull of my White Chocolate frappacino wih Java chips.
"Where did you two meet?" I ask once I'm able to form a coherrent sentence.
"At The V, that night we went and you ran into Julia."
"Was it that woman you were sitting with? What her name again?" I ask, trying to think way back to when Julia and I were broken up. It seems like centuries ago.
"Her name is Olivia." Melony tells me, her eyes twinkling a little as she says her name.
"Olivia is the red head right?"
"That's the one, though her hair isn't red anymore. She dyed it red, she went back to her natural color."
"Do you have a picture of her?"
"Yeah," Melony says picking up her phone, she unlocks it and hands the phone to me.
"Wow, she's really pretty." I compliment in awe.
"You think so?"
"Definitely, I've always had an obsession with the beauty of older women. She certainly fits the criteria."
"I know right." Melony sighs, turning the phone to face her so she could look at the picture.
"When are you two going to see each other again?"
"Probably tonight since you'll be with Julia."
"Should I be worried about you going to see this person you've only ever seen once?"
"I don't think so." Melony laughs, "We've been texting, and calling, and facetiming, since we met that night."
"And why is the first I'm hearing of her?" I question Melony.
"Because, you we're going through that thing with Julia and I just didn't want it to seem like my love life was flourishing while yours was falling apart."
"Understandable." I nod, "But you will tell me next time, no matter the circumstances, yes?"
"Promise." Melony says, holding up her hand like she was taking some kind of oath.
I laugh as I finish off my coffee, leaving the dollop of whip cream sitting at the bottom of the cup.
"So what's the plan for tonight? I doubt you want your parents knowing you'll be spending the night with Olivia and me, Julia." I say.
"We could say we're going to my house." Melony suggests. "My parents are never home so they won't be able to contradict us if your parents ever ask. Which I doubt they will."
"Cool." I agree, "Well let's go. I have some serious packing that needs to be done, plus the stuff I need to get together for tonight."
"Hmm, what to do you and Julia have plans for tonight?" Melony ask, grinning mischevously.
"You don't want to know." I smile, getting up from the table to throw away our trash.
"I'm sure I don't." Melony says, leading the way to the car.
"Don't worry, I'm kind of new at this, so it won't be a kink fest, but it'll be memorable." I say, getting excited at what laid just a few hours ahead of me.
"You go girl." Melony winks at me before climbing into the driver's seat of her car.
"Shut up!" I shriek, as I blush profusely.
Melony drops me off at home, and then leaves for hers. She's coming back to pick me up at 6:30pm. We'll drive to her house and I'll use one of her parents' cars to drive to Julia's house and her to Olivia's. Tonight is definitley going to be something special and I can't wait.
