Sorry Pt.2

Laurel's POV

I push myself to run to the bathroom all the way in the other side of campus, by the main office. I rush into the door and slam it shut behind me, sliding down it, bringing my knees to my chest.

I force myself to breathe so my heart rate will go down. What am I going to do?

**********

Once I'd managed to calm myself down, I re-did all of my makeup and went to my 3rd period because I'd missed all of 2nd.

The rest of the school day was tainted with a fresh wave of depression and pain. At lunch I didn't talk, and I barely ate. When the final bell of the day rang I was so relieved, I practically ran to Steph's office.

"Ready?" I sighed as I took a seat on the couch in her office.

"I have a few meetings remember?" Steph frowned, looking up from her laptop.

I face palmed myself.

"I completely forgot. I better go so I can get a ride from Melony." I say, rising from my seat.

"Are you okay?" Steph asks, walking up to me, putting her hand to my forehead and then my cheek.

"I'm fine." I lied.

"No you're not." Steph says, gently staring deeply into my eyes.

"I am." I insist.

"Its her again isn't it?" Steph asks, taking my hands into hers.

I just look again her then look down, feeling the tears resurfacing.

"It is." Steph frowns, "Do you want to talk about it?"

I shake my head no.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah," I say, clearing my throat. "I better go get that ride."

"Okay honey, see you at home." Steph says softly, kissing me lightly on the forehead.

"I love you." I whisper.

"I love you too sweetie." Steph smiles, pulling me into a hug.

I lay my head on her shoulder and breathe in her perfume. Somehow it seems to calm me a little.

"I'll see you at home." Steph promises before walking out the room.

Immediately, I pull out my phone and call Melony.

"Hello." she says.

"Are you still on campus?" I ask.

"Yep, I'm on my way to the student parking lot right now actually. Why?"

"I need a ride."

"Come on. I'll wait for you." Melony says.

I can see in my mind the smile I know she is wearing.

"I'm on my way." I say.

I hang up the phone when I spot Melony leaned against her car near the rear of the parking lot.

"You look like crap." Melony states.

"Thanks Captain Obvious." I grimace.

"Your welcome." She smiles as she gets into the car.
