I Love You
Laurel's POV
Its like peanut butter without jelly, pancakes without syrup, hot dogs without buns!!! That's what its like without Julia. Its only been a week since I've been with her but it seems like an entire lifetime. Though I think my heart stops, I love it when her cool breath blows across my faces, when her fingers lightly carress my face. She is all I've been able to think about. Her and how many days until after my birthday.
"So what do you want to be on the menu for the party?" Steph asks, her hands flying across her laptop keyboard.
This past week has been nothing but party planning stuff being that the party is 12 days away.
"Nothing too heavy, " I say, "People usually get sluggish on a full stomach....pizza and some finger foods I guess."
"Alright." Steph says, typing up what I just said.
She slides her laptop to the side and picks up a pen.
"Now for the guest list. "
"It doesn't matter really." I sigh.
The only person I want for sure to come would look and feel so out of place with a bunch of teenagers.
"So everyone then?" Steph asks.
"Yea." I say, typing a reply to a text message Sarah just sent me.
Steph is writing down an order for my customized invitations when my phone rings.
HER
"I gotta get this. I'll be right back." I say, getting up from the table.
I make sure I'm far down the hall when I answer the phone.
"Hello."
"Hi," Julia says.
My heart melt, just hearing her voice makes everything better in my world.
"How are you?" She asks.
"Better now that I'm talking to you." I smile.
"I'm so glad I'm made you day better." Julia laughs jokingly.
"You always do." I admit, blushing uncontrollably.
There's silence but I can't still hear her breathing over the phone.
"I know this is hard for you." Julia says, finally breaking the silence.
"You have no idea." I whine.
"Patience, beautiful. Your birthday is only 10 days away."
"That seems so far away though." I frown.
"I know..." Julia sighs, "but you have to remember this is what has to be done in order for our relationship to be safe. I want to be with you much more than you probably want to be with me, but if I don't have self control then who will."
I groan. I hate it when she's right.
"Okay." I sigh.
Ping. My phone notifies me of a new text message.
I put the phone on speaker as I walk to my room and open the text.
"Do you need to call me back?" Julia asks.
"No!"I stay quickly, "I want to talk to you, just let me answer this message."
She doesn't answer but I can still hear her body movements over the phone.
