The Movies
Laurel's POV
Nothing's worse than waking up hungry. It feels like my stomach is eating at my back, its so empty. Groaning I roll over and pick up my phone off the edge of the bed: Saturday, January 31, 2015 12:34pm.
Dang, I slept late. That's what I get for staying up all night finishing my Romeo & Juliet project. So next week I'm free of English homework.
Straightening my lopsided bra I climb out of bed and go to my closet. Inside, I pull a short white dress off the hanger and the black belt from the counter under it. With some matching black sandles from my shoe rack. Carrying my clothes back out into the bathroom I set them on the counter before taking off my Joe Boxer pajamas and stepping into the shower.
Once I'm done showering, I get out, towel off and do my hair in floor-to-floor curls with the curling iron. Pulling some from the side to the back I slide a bobby pin to hold it on the way to the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Steph is sitting at the bar with a coffee mug.
"Hey." I say, hopping on the stool next to her.
"Hi." Steph answers, looking at me then back at her coffee mug. "You look pretty."
"Thanks. I'm suppose to be going to hangout with my friend Sarah if that's okay." I say, looking at her face, trying to figure out what was wrong with her.
"Of course it is. Where are you suppose to be going?" Steph asks, her voice not having the least bit of interest.
"The movies then to eat...are you okay?"
"Yea. Why wouldn't I be?" Steph says with a fake smile.
"Would this have anything to do with telling dad about the baby?" I guess.
"I told him if that's what you mean."
"So how did it go?" I question.
There's a pause and I think for a second she's not going to answer.
"I'm fine really. Go have fun with your friend." Steph insists, leaning over to kiss my forehead before getting up from the stool and moving towards the living room.
I sigh and pull out my phone to text Sarah.
Hey. I'm ready. I text.
So u want me 2 come get u? She texts back.
Give me about an hour. Then u can come. I need to handle something. I respond thinking about Steph.
Kk. I'll be there around 2:15.
K. I say before locking my phone and walking into the living room where Steph,is sitting next to her on the couch.
She turns to look at me.
"I thought you were leaving."
"I am. In an hour or so. I postponed so we could hang out." I smile.
"You didn't have to do that." Steph frowns.
"I wanted to." I say, reaching for one of her hands and lacing my fingers into her, then I lay my head on her shoulder.
