*SONG REPRESENTING JULIA AND LAUREL'S RELATIONSHIP IN THE MEDIA*

Busted

Laurel's POV

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"

Julia quickly pulls away from me and I straighten up in the bed. I lift my eyes cautiously, only to come in contact with my vicious mother's.

"Who's this?" Julia asks.

"This is my mother...Amanda." I say, running my fingers through my hair.

"Who the hell are you?" My mother demands, looking Julia up and down.

"Don't talk to her like that!" I say, coming to Julia's defense.

"It's fine." Julia says calmly, placing her hand on mine.

"Stop fucking touching her like that." My mother screams, shoving Julia's hand away from mine.

"No, you stop touching her like that! As a matter of a fact, don't touch her at all! Just get out!" I yell, getting up off the bed.

"Baby, be careful." Julia says, standing up next to me, looking quickly at my IV and back at me.

" "Baby?' Don't call her that! You're look like you could be my age! What could you see in a young girl her age? What could you see in a girl period!?" My mother spits.

"I should go." Julia says, picking up her cellphone from off the bed.

"Yes, thank you. Get the fuck out." My mother scowls.

"We can talk later." Julia says, kissing me on my cheek.

"NO! You're don't have to go anywhere. I want you to stay." I say, grabbing her wrist.

"I really should go. Just call me."

"Let her go! She doesn't belong here!" My mother interjects.

"She belongs here way more than you do! Get the fuck out!" I scream, pointing at the door.

"Laurel..." Julia whispers cautiously.

I send her a quick look with my eyes, telling her to allow me to handle this.

"Amanda, you have 2.3 seconds before I call security and have them escort your ass out. So leave willfully or forcefully. Either way, you're the only one that's leaving."

My mother stares back at me, her expression appalled.

"I'll be back." she growls as she turns to leave out the door.

When she's gone, I sigh in relief and climb back on the bed.

"Laurel, you really shouldn't talk to your mother that way." Julia says, sitting down in front of me.

"What do you mean?" I ask, confused.

"I mean, that wasn't necessary. She is your mother. If she wanted me to leave then I should have went."

"No! She doesn't get to make any decisions regarding me anymore. I want you here and this is where you'll be unless you say otherwise." I say.

Julia just looks at me and doesn't answer.

"Say something." I beg her, "Why are you so calm? She just disrespected you to a level of no return!"

"I know." Julia nods.

"And?"

"And, I'm okay."

"Okay how?" I shriek, "Why is that okay with you? You deserve so much better than the way she treated you."

"I know, that's why I'm okay. Love, I don't need you to defend me." Julia laughs lightly, taking my hands into hers.

"I felt obligated." I frown.

"I know, and I love you for that." she smiles kissing me on my forehead.

I lean into her, pressing my face into her neck.

"So, you're not upset with me?" I whisper timidly.

"Why would I be?" she asks, stroking my hair.

"Amanda sometimes can cause problems where there's near damn perfection." I chuckle hardly.

"I'm not easily scared away." Julia says, running her hand up and down my back, "But this does bring a new issue to the table."

"What's that?"

"Well, since she knows, I'm pretty sure Steph and your father will soon too."

"You're right. I didn't think about that." I say, lifting my head from her neck.

"What do you want to do?"

"I have to tell Steph before Amanda does." I conclude.

"Are you sure you want to do that?" Julia asks.

"Amanda hasn't really left me any other choice." I sigh.

"If you need me to be there when you tell her, then I will." Julia promises.

"Really? You're not afraid she'll fire you on the spot or something?" I inquire.

"No. This is about us now, not just me. Whatever you need from me I'll do."

Staring deeply into her eyes, I sit up on my knees and press my lips against hers, twisting my fingers in her hair.

"I love you." I say after I pull away.

"As I love you." Julia says, pulling me into her arms.

I can feel the tensions roll off my muscles as I relax against her. I try and live in the moment and take it all in that I can, because knowing my mother like I do, a whirlwind is coming and it won't pass over quickly.
