Laurel's POV

Knightingale is really colorful and sophisticated. Its extremely diverse and is very large. It has 6 buildings spread evenly over a huge plot of land. The middle office is the closest building to the parking lot. Steph pulls into the parking lot before us, so she's waiting on the sidewalk for us to get there.

"Ready?" She asks when my father and I approach.

"As ready as I'll ever be." I say, sucking in a giant gulp of air.

"You'll be fine." My father says, patting me on the back.

I nod, then we all walk into the double doors of the main office leading to the secretary's desk.

"Hello Rita." Steph smiles, looking at the lady behind the desk.

"Good morning Mrs.Eaton." Rita smiles back.

"Rita, my husband is here to register our daughter Laurel. Help them out for me?" Steoh says scrolling through the computer on top of the secretarial desk.

Rita doesn't catch it and I don't think my father does either when Steph said "our daughter ". As in my father's and her's.

"Laurel, come see me in my office when you finish up." Steph says "I'm right down the hall."

I nod again and she walks down the hall, then unlocks a door on the left and walks in.

I turn my attention back to my father and Rita. My father's filling out an information sheet. I'm surprised he knows it all : birthday, grade, all known allergens. He signs his signature at the bottom and hands it to Rita. Rita scans the information onto the computer and hands me a schedule in seconds.

"Here you are dear." Rita says.

"Thank you." I answer.

"Your welcome." Rita smiles and turns to my father, "Nice seeing you Mr.Eaton."

"You too Rita." My father says.

We take a few steps away from the desk as we scan over my schedule.

"Well princess, I gotta get going." My father frowns.

"Its okay dad." I pat his arm, " You can't stay forever.'

"I know." He sighs, "Good luck."

He kisses my forehead and I kiss his jaw. He leaves out the double doors and I walk to Steph's office and the door is open. I walk in and see her sitting at a big oak desk, her laptop in front of her.

"Finished?" She asks looking up at me.

"Uh...yes." I say, slightly waving my schedule.

I walk around to stand behind her desk chair and see the pictures in the frames on the edge of her desk. Pictures of her and my father. One of them at the carnival, one outside of a giant restaurant called BoHoi, one of them at the beach, Steph's blonde hair airborne around her face, one of them sitting at a table, Steph in a white dress and my dad in a tux. It must be their wedding day. The last picture is of a little girl in a bathing suit at a beach. It looks like the same beach from the one in Steph and my dad's picture. The little girl is sitting in the sand, holding a shovel and pale with her long brown hair cascaded on the sand. Casey.

"Is that Casey?" I ask softly.

Steph looks up from her computer and at the picture.

"Yes, that's her." Steph answers, smiling.
